Eiravyne kept looking at him, silent and expectant, clearly waiting for him to finish.
Urag noticed.
"I've been honest with him," he said simply.
Her brows drew together at once. She turned fully toward him now, confusion plain on her face.
"Honest…?" she echoed. "H-How?"
Urag's tone shifted, quiet and serious.
"It was never my intention," he said slowly, deliberately, "to take him for you… and then hide the fact that you are his big sister."
The words landed wrong.
Too sharp. Too sudden.
Eiravyne froze, then stood so fast and stumbled back a step as if the floor itself had tilted.
"No… no..no...," she whispered, shaking her head hard.
Her hands flew to her mouth, fingers pressing there.
Her eyes widened, panic blooming fast and uncontained.
"No, you didn't..p-p..please tell me you didn't," she begged, voice breaking. "Please… Urag....this can't be ..right !!"
Her breath came shallow ."Y-You wouldn't. …You wouldn't do that…t-to..me ….to me ..right !!"
