The survival of Leroux, and the connective, cooperative, command system he established among the remnant forces of the Northern Line, was originally prepared for the entire unit to survive better and longer on Reiaductus.
After all, sometimes an isolated remnant unit, once located by the Insect Race, is doomed. But now, although still very dangerous, at least there are friendly forces that can help save them. If they lack ammunition, they can secretly transport some from brother units; where it is discovered that there are supplies left behind by planets falling into Insect Race hands, or supplies transported to the ground during the first campaign, joint actions can be taken to seize them.
In any case, Leroux's efforts over the past year and a half allowed the Northern Line remnant forces to preserve as much of their vitality as possible, and also retain a certain combat capability.
And all of this is now bursting out with power.
