Chapter 348 - I'm Going All Out!

Kevin stared at the cloud of dust that engulfed both Itama and Pyron, his heart racing due to the growing suspense that changed the entire atmosphere of the battlefield. "This guy thinks he can take Pyron for himself!?" he thought, slamming his hand against the tree bark. "Using power conservation as an excuse for me to fall back too, how cowardly!"

A giant gust of wind raced through the forest, blowing the dust from Itama's attack into the air. With his swords pointed up to the sky, Itama made the same motion he had made during his transformation. Shortly after, Pyron emerged from the ground - with a hole impaled right through it, the skin on its body began to slowly decay with the wind. "This isn't over yet, Pyron!" Itama declared, a vision similar to the one he and Champion had seen back in the Land of Trila appearing in his head. This time, however, it seemed as if he wielded the ability to balance reality with his subconscious mind - something he could use to keep fighting and witness the link at the same time. From about 100 feet away, Kevin's proximity transmission began to start acting up too, landing him right next to Itama in his subconscious. "Wait, where the hell are we!?" he asked, noticing the distorted fire that raged across the dimension. "Seems like I'm witnessing a proximity transmission link again," Itama responded, taking a second glance around the mysterious dimension. "I'm still perplexed on how you're able to access this as well - what does your power of gravity have to do with pristine entities?"

Silence enclosed the both of them, but it had been interrupted by a loud scream that echoed across the dimension. "LET ME OUT!" the voice pleaded, but each repeated plea caused the desperation to fade - until the silence came once again. In the real world, Itama noticed as Pyron's body liquidated into a red substance, which also poured across the ground in the link between them. A few seconds later, Itama had successfully connected the dots. "Kevin, I'm going to say this slowly," he said. "Take Gerald and Xavier, and get the hell off the battlefield THIS INSTANT!" Inside the subconscious world, Kevin turned his back on Itama, stroking his brown hair with his hand. "Itama, you remember what I said back in the Land of Trila, right?" The exact same words that circulated throughout Kevin's mind had appeared in Itama's. "Even if the circumstances are fatal… I WON'T RETREAT FROM A FIGHT LIKE I DID BACK THEN!" All of a sudden, Kevin's body drifted right in front of Itama's eyes, a large smile plastered on his face. "This is my life, and it goes by only my rules! So instead of following your stupid order, I'M GOING ALL OUT!"

Itama's heart skipped a beat as he noticed Kevin's arrival on the battlefield. "You just don't know when to follow orders from your superiors, don't you?" he joked, their hands joining together. Kevin lifted his head up, widening his smile towards Itama. "Who the hell said you were my superior, sword boy?"

Both of Kevin's feet pressed against the ground, and him and Itama had now switched places. Aimed right towards Pyron's head, Kevin continued to spin Itama round and round until he reached unprecedented speeds. "Sometimes, you just have to be a little rebellious!" Kevin continued, throwing both of his hands that held Itama back to maximize the momentum. "If your first attempt doesn't succeed, try and try again and make the impossible possible!" Kevin boldly stepped up, the smile on his face fading due to concentration. "BECAUSE IF YOU GIVE UP AT ANY POINT, HOW COULD YOU CALL YOURSELF DETERMINED!?" Kevin let go of Itama, watching as the red glow from his swords raced through the forest. "Ultimate Combination - Gravitational Slash Of Memories!" Itama noticed another destructive fireball racing right towards him, but the surge of power he had experienced at the beginning of the battle harnessed into a forcefield, sending him straight through the fireball with unchanged speeds. "Don't you ever give me an order like that again, ITAMA KAWASAKI!" Kevin shouted, his voice still tied to the three-way link. A singular swing of the blade had altered the force of gravity within a 200 feet radius, joining with the impact Itama's slash had on Pyron. In the real world, the critical impact of the attack had unleashed another wound right across its rock-hard body, but the same could not be said for his subconscious.

Itama's body in his subconscious was frozen - he was stuck in a lunging motion with both of his swords, but a man that had been completely engulfed by fire endured the blow. "Who the hell…" Kevin thought, watching as the fire across their body slowly faded away. Itama had been unfrozen, and the unknown person's body slammed right against the ground. A dark cloud covered both Kevin and Itama's mouths, revoking their ability to communicate inside the link. "Please… put an end to this nightmare," the man pleaded, his body slowly fading away as he stared into both of their eyes. "I entrust the extermination of all entities to the current generation."

---

Itama's body in the real world was now laid across the floor, cuts and burns scattered throughout. The glow inside Pyron's body disappeared as it emerged from the ground yet again, creating yet another fireball among the current silence that stood within. Without hesitation, Kevin ran straight towards Itama. He grabbed straight onto his shoulders and pushed him out of the way, but not fast enough to get out of Pyron's line of fire as well. Just in time before the fireball had been launched at Kevin, the Great Armor smashed right into Pyron's face. "Took you long enough, Forrest Cooper!" Itama called out, watching as he fearlessly rode on top of the van. "Kaelan and Stephanie have gone to retrieve Xavier and Gerald, but I WILL BE THE ONE TO FIGHT PYRON OUT OF THIS FOREST!"

Pyron had been greatly damaged since the beginning of the battle - it was no longer able to generate mouths across its body and had lost the ability to move its arms completely. Forrest closely looked at the damage, turning his head straight towards the pristine entity. "Don't worry, I got this."
