Chapter 489 - 488: Pan Xiaodie

"You're done playing?" Once Yun Wuji dispelled his Omnipresent Domain, Yun Wuying's voice reached him. It sounded light and joyful, carrying a teasing seduction, as though she had just finished savoring some exquisite amusement.

"I wasn't playing... Oh! It looks like you were the one playing!" Yun Wuji turned, dropping Mo Su to the ground. The sight before him made a chill run through his spine.

At Yun Wuying's feet lay three pitiful figures... and "pitiful" scarcely captured the complete devastation of their condition.

Their bodies had been twisted into grotesque mockeries of their former selves. Liu Xiao had suffered the least among them. His limbs bent at unnatural, impossible angles, with jagged white bone spikes thrusting through torn skin. His face was so brutally swollen and bruised that one eye dangled grotesquely from its socket by thin threads of tissue, while his shattered jaw hung slack and useless.

Big Rage fared far worse. His revered Body of Rage, the Body of Saints, had been utterly demolished. His limbs had been savagely ripped away, leaving him reduced to a pathetic human stump.

Thick black and red blood still oozed from the ragged stumps where his arms and legs once grew. His once healthy skin had turned a sickly, ashen gray. The powerful, towering, muscular frame that once inspired fear was now shriveled and frail, resembling a desiccated mummy. Both eyes had burst, leaving only dark, hollow sockets staring blankly.

And the one who received the most "attentive" treatment was, naturally, the Brahma God. Anyone who had once known him would fail to recognize the thing before them now. Even he himself, if somehow conscious, would not know his own form.

What remained was nothing more than a mangled slab of meat sprawled on the ground, a limbless trunk of quivering flesh. Veins and exposed tendons twitched and spasmed visibly across the raw surface. Because of the few insolent words he had dared speak to Yun Wuying, she had personally skinned him alive, methodically torn his limbs away inch by agonizing inch, crushed his bones one by one, and finally ripped his tongue from his mouth so he could never again sully her ears with his voice.

"Hahaha, you have no idea~" Yun Wuying slowly licked her lips sensually. With graceful, swaying steps that twisted her waist enticingly, she glided to his side. She leaned lightly against his shoulder, her gaze drifting down to the helpless figure of Mo Su. "Long time no see, little boy."

"Last time we met, you were so pathetic, begging for the life of your little woman. Now you are even more pathetic. Still, you have to thank my husband for taking care of you. If it were me, you'd be in much 'better' shape," She eyed Mo Su up and down, the cruelty that had faded after torturing the three High Priests now roaring back.

"It's... you!" Mo Su stammered, staring straight ahead without moving a muscle. His pupils shrank, his scalp tingling like never before.

It was too much information to process. The beautiful woman before him was the entity he had made a deal with. And what did she just call the man beside her, the one who looked stronger than a Creation God? Her husband?!

Fuck! Someone like him actually existed in this universe?! Since when?!

"Well, thanks for your help, babe," Yun Wuji said, caressing her face softly, ignoring Mo Su as he turned his attention to the other three pitiful figures.

His gaze settled on the piece of flesh twitching miserably. Among the three, the one who should have suffered the least was the Brahma God. After all, even if their connection was distant, he was in a sense Qianye Ying'er's Progenitor. It made sense that after Yun Wuji absorbed his power, he might spare his life, perhaps even extend it until he could recover to his peak.

Too bad this guy had to offend Yun Wuying.

To end his pitiful state, Yun Wuji started with him. He stretched out his hand, and an invisible force lifted the Brahma God, bringing him closer. A silver light shot from his palm, enveloping the Brahma God in a shimmering cocoon.

Slowly, the Brahma God's power began to flow out of him, following the silver light that connected them both and entering Yun Wuji's profound veins, condensing into a golden ball.

Thud!

Half an hour later, the process ended, and Yun Wuji released him. The Brahma God's body collapsed to the ground with a soft thud. He turned to Yun Wuying and said, "You can kill him if you want."

Even if she didn't, having lost his cultivation meant he would certainly die within minutes. He was now nothing but a mortal, his lifespan drastically shortened.

"Yeah, sure," Yun Wuying said, shrugging her shoulders with a casual wave of her hand. Abyssal Dust engulfed him, and when it dispersed, nothing remained.

Yun Wuji turned to the other two, repeating the same process and absorbing their Divine Power as well. Just like that, the three High Priests, the most revered figures in the universe, were wiped out in the most miserable and pathetic way imaginable.

Not even they could have imagined dying like this.

"It's your turn," Yun Wuji said, clapping his hand in Mo Su's direction. The power he had taken from these two dwarfed what he had absorbed from the Divine Regents. There was no comparison; just their power alone was enough to push him to the Peak Divine Extinction Realm.

"..." Mo Su closed his eyes, silent. Silver light engulfed him, and he felt his own power slowly draining away.

He was at the Half-step Creation God Realm. The time it took Yun Wuji to absorb his power was longer than it had taken for the other three combined.

Six hours later, when Yun Wuji finally stopped, Mo Su's cultivation had fallen to a pitiful 1st level Divine Extinction Realm. He clapped his hands and said, "This will keep you alive for a few days."

"Why?" Mo Su tilted his head weakly, powerless.

"Didn't I tell you? To let you see Pan Xiaodie one last time," Yun Wuji said with a shrug. He pointed a finger, and a faint beam of light shot out, striking Mo Su's wrist.

The jade bracelet on his left arm floated toward Yun Wuji and stopped before him.

"Give it back! Give it to me!" Mo Su's reaction was both unexpected and expected. Even in his pathetic state, he struggled to rise, his broken body trembling as he tried to get back the jade bracelet.

"So this is the Cradle, heh," Yun Wuji muttered, ignoring Mo Su as he inspected the bracelet. When he tried to inject his senses into it, he immediately lost contact, as if the connection had been severed.

Earlier, in the Omnipresent Domain, after 'taking care' of Mo Su, he had obviously read his mind and seen all his memories. Once someone reached the Divine Soul Realm, tools like soul search could no longer fully read their mind, but it was never absolute.

For example, the Dreamweaver Kingdom had their ways of reading others' memories, by bypassing soul defenses, putting targets to sleep, or even brute-forcing their way in. In the novel, Hua Fuchen had deliberately sent Yun Che to the Dreamweaver Kingdom so Meng Kongchan could read his mind.

Yun Wuji, whose soul power was exceptionally strong, had no trouble reading Mo Su's mind after he had been weakened so drastically.

From it, he learned that this black jade bracelet was actually the Cradle, created using the Devil Pearl, also known as the Nirvana Devil Wheel Reversing Pearl. Inside, time was completely stagnant. It did not move at all.

Yun Wuji tried again, this time following Mo Su's method. He saw the scene inside. It was a dark space stretching infinitely, without boundaries. Floating there was the graceful figure of a beautiful woman, dressed in tight black clothes, her eyes closed peacefully as she drifted freely. Her inky black hair scattered behind her like a living shadow.

"Noice!" Yun Wuji, Hei Xiaolian, and even Li Suo exclaimed at the same time.

"..." Shen Xi stared at the three of them without speaking. Why did her own master, Li Suo, increasingly resemble these two in behavior?

With a single thought, Yun Wuji acted. The figure of Pan Xiaodie was taken out of the Cradle and appeared outside.

"Why did you take her out? Give her back! Stop! Do not touch her!" The scene made the already agitated Mo Su widen his eyes to their limit. Countless blood vessels bulged violently. This was his reversed scale. Why was this man touching his Xiaodie? She had already suffered enough.

"Shut up. Speak again, and I will kill you," Yun Wuji said coldly, his eyes never leaving the sleeping beauty.

Contrary to Yun Wuji's initial assumptions, Pan Xiaodie was not injured. Or rather, she had been injured before, but Yun Wuying had healed her. Even so, she never woke up, not even after three million years. The reason lay in her overwhelming sadness and guilt. She felt guilty for betraying her entire race, for stealing their most important artifact just to save Mo Su.

Drowning in self hatred, she abandoned herself and locked her soul away, refusing to wake up.
