Fourth Master still had palace duties, so he left after lunch.
Ye Zao was waiting for the Fifth Prince to return. This child had been playing too wildly and hadn't come back for lunch; he even ate with the imperial nephews.
When he returned, Ye Zao put on a stern face: "Gun Gun doesn't accompany your mother for lunch anymore these days."
"Mother, don't call me Gun Gun!" Gun Gun frowned, thinking that he had grown up and that nickname had been laughed at by his cousins last time!
Ye Zao didn't say anything else, just quietly watched him.
Eventually, Gun Gun gave in: "Okay, okay, but mother can't call me that outside."
Ye Zao continued to ignore him and went directly into the room.
Gun Gun stood where he was and shook his head: "Mother is just too willful!"
This phrase, of course, was learned from his Imperial Father, but his childish look made it extra amusing.
