Dorian stated "How about you guys go home first then I'll search and come back with whatever I get before lunch"
Lane refuted "No, we go together and go back together, that's how it's always been"
Paul remarked "And besides, what if you go into the temple all by yourself knowing that you would very well endanger yourself, huh, Ian"
Dorian shrugged "Were you not the one complaining that you're tired?"
Paul pursed his lips "I never said I was tired, I just don't like walking around with no sense of destinations or clues or anything"
Dorian rolled his eyes and Lane chuckled
Hours of walking later, Dorian and Lane were still full of energy while Paul was exhausted but didn't try to show it
Dorian shivered and fell to his knees then gritted his teeth as his body vibrated "Found it"
Lane and Paul came to Dorian anxiously as Paul said "Hey hey since we found the location, can we take the steel off now?"
Dorian grabbed the flowers on the ground with his bare hands as he grunted and said "Shoes"
Paul exclaimed "Lan, his shoes, take them off"
Lane hurriedly untied the knot and took them off then Dorian fell onto the flowers as he sighed in relief
Paul said to him with worry "You said it wouldn't hurt, look at you, you're weak now"
Dorian smiled wryly "It's my first time, I didn't know"
Lane then looked around "I didn't know there was a meadow in a Forest"
Paul said "They called this an abandoned wildlife park on the net but it is now a tourist forest, not a wildlife in sight
Lane stated "Maybe they come out at night like some movies I watched. In the day, the forest was peaceful but it became the survival of the fittest when the sun set"
Paul rolled his eyes "You watch too many movies"
After a few minutes, Dorian was able to stand up then Lane complained "The steels won't come off"
Dorian shrugged "Just throw it away and give me the bag"
Lane threw the shoes but as he gave the bag to Dorian, they heard a scream "Ow!"
The trio looked at each other stunned then ran into hiding in some bushes when they heard footsteps headed their way
Then five people arrived, four men and a young boy around their age who came over but didn't spot them
One of the men said to the young boy "Young master, did you see who hit you?"
The young boy with blue silver hair and dark blue eyes shook his head as he held up the shoe that hit him "No, I didn't. This oddly built sneaker just landed on my head out of nowhere"
Another one of the men said "Maybe it was a sneak attack and the assailant already left the scene to avoid getting caught?"
The young boy sighed as he rubbed his head "I don't know either though that might be possible but who would attack with such a preposterous weapon"
Then one of the men stated "Maybe we should be going back, young master"
The young boy waved his hands "We move forward"
The first man spoke up "But young master, what if something happens again and it's deadly this time?"
The young boy shook his head "I didn't get hurt that bad and besides, I have a mission to complete"
Then the five walked on but they had not walked ten steps when the ground caved in and they fell through which stunned the trio in hiding as they rushed out of the bushes but the five already fell in
Lane almost choked on his oxygen "W-wasn't that like three steps away from our previous position? WE almost fell in!"
Dorian had already worn his sneakers and threw the bag on his shoulder as he peeked in to know where it reached but it was really dark inside so he couldn't see anything "I can't see them"
Paul sighed and Lane asked "W-what do we do? Go after them?"
Paul stated "We leave"
Lane was shocked "What?? B-but what if something happens, it would be on our conscience"
Paul said firmly as he stared at Lane "We cannot just jump into unknown danger for strangers, we have to plan it also we have to be back before dinner time and this is two in the afternoon, you do know how long it would take us to get back right? Getting back to the outer part of the forest would take us at least an hour and a half if we walk fast enough then back home by taxi is two hours. We would barely make it back in time unless Sis Molly makes late dinner today"
Dorian nodded "Paw's right, besides we're surely gonna come back here and if they're still alive by then, we'll just kill them"
Lane and Paul were shocked as Lane stammered "K-kill? Ian, why?"
Dorian replied "Well, what if they actually followed us here or what if they are here for the treasure too?"
Paul was in deep thought and asked "What if all those possibilities are misconceptions?"
Dorian shrugged "Okay so they are not after us nor the treasure but what if we carry them along and betray us because of the treasure"
Lane exclaimed "Then we kill them! That's more justified"
Paul looked at the duo in astonishment "What's with you two and always wanting to kill someone at the slightest threat especially you, Ian. I think you're the one inculcating these bad habits into Lan"
Dorian looked away and didn't say anything while Lane tried to change the topic "I'm starving, let's hurry back in time for dinner. We only had snacks as supplement for lunch today but it ain't enough"
Paul rolled his eyes "Foodie"
Then the trio left the place quickly before they were spotted by others
When they got back home, Yilao was coincidentally about to go out then she glared at them
Lane whistled and looked at the ceiling while Dorian just stood there with his hands in his pockets and Paul became fidgety "Sister Lao"
Yilao folded her arms "This is thirty minutes after six in the evening! I was about to call you boys and come pick you up, maybe you lost your way or something but I didn't dare to think worse"
Paul showed her a picture "We would have arrived earlier but a truck carrying logs broke down in the middle of the road which caused huge traffic. It's not our fault Sister Lao"
Yilao scrutinized the picture and harrumphed "Fine then but next time you boys feel like exploring, just tell me and I'll take you. If anything happens-"
Dorian said "I'll just portal us away"
Yilao placed her hand on his head then bent down slightly "Ian, there are sometimes when power isn't always going to be able to save you guys. You still have to be careful, you're teenagers for goodness' sake"
Dorian nodded "Alright, Sister Lao, we'll be more careful"
Yilao smiled with content "Okay now let's go eat, Molly's almost done"
After dinner, the trio went back to their room and locked the door from behind
Paul said "Okay, we go change into something more coverable, take your masks and weapons along"
Lane brought his small hammer from his pocket "I always take mine everywhere, it's so small and cute"
When they were done, Dorian changed into a plain black hoodie, black pants and wore a mask which covered just his nose and mouth
Paul also changed into a black long sleeve turtleneck with dark grey skinny jeans while Lane wore a thick black sweater and black cargo pants
They both put on a mask which covered half of their faces then Lane took the bag which has their necessities in it
Milky was coming along this time too but it didn't need any disguise
When Dorian opened a portal so they could get to the ground without having to jump out the window, a knock sounded on the door
The trio quickly jumped into bed then used the duvet to cover them up to their necks and hurriedly took off their masks
Dorian opened the door with his psychic ability and Molly entered
Molly was puzzled "You guys are going to sleep already?"
Lane nodded and Paul said "We're really exhausted from today's fun"
Molly nodded in realization "Okay so there's this thing. You boys have to take care of Lilac as from tonight till tomorrow evening"
Their eyes widened and Paul asked "Why? Where are you guys going?"
Molly sat on the chair "So me and Laolao have to go to a high school reunion party tomorrow which was placed in the morning so we have to leave tonight because the city where it is happening is a bit far away. And Jack didn't come back from work because he and Wilson have cases to settle, he'll probably be back tomorrow late at night. Gaeul has traveled to California for a fashion show and took Bobae with her because she persisted, they'll probably be back in two days. Me and Laolao will be back the day after tomorrow so we're entrusting Lilac to you boys, alright? As for breakfast, lunch and dinner tomorrow, I'm sure you boys can take care of yourselves, right?"
The trio were stunned and almost sat up then Molly saw their worried faces and stood up "Don't worry, Jack will be back tomorrow well probably late at night but you boys will be fine"
Molly walked towards the door "We'll soon be done packing so you boys should come out to lock the door"
When she went, the trio stood up from the bed and looked at each other in astonishment
Lane gulped nervously "What do we do? We still have to save those people"
Paul held his forehead "We can't cancel this"
Dorian shrugged "What are you guys so worried about? We'll just take Lala along"
Paul raised an eyebrow at Dorian "Can you assure me that there is no danger in that place we're going to that we've never even been to before?"
Lane sighed and Dorian pursed his lips
Paul stated "Let's leave that aside and change into something that doesn't give away the fact we're sneaking out"
Molly gave Lilac to Paul to carry and Yilao told them "Take good care of your baby sister and none of you should leave the apartment at most you can go downstairs but not a foot out of this hotel, get it?"
The boys nodded in unison while Lilac giggled as she sucked on her thumb
Molly caressed Lilac's hair "Be a good girl okay"
Lilac giggled cutely and nodded with a pout
The duo gave them a few more do's and don't's before they finally left
Paul locked the door then the trio went to their room with Lilac then locked the door of their room and set Lilac on the bed while they changed back into what they wore before
Paul stated "So we have two options, take Lala with us or someone stays back to take care of her at home"
Lane was distressed "But we're all supposed to go everywhere together"
Paul glared at him "You want us to bring her along? Firstly, it's risky and dangerous, Secondly, we have never been there before and we are not sure if we can keep our bodies intact or even come out alive, Thirdly, she's a toddler! No matter how smart Lala is, she is still a toddler and for goodness sakes, she can't even speak proper words yet. We cannot endanger so I guess someone has to stay back and I will do that"
Lane refuted "No if someone has to stay back, it has to be me. I don't wanna go on any adventures without the both of you with me so you two go and tell me everything that happened when you get back"
Dorian and Paul looked at each other then nodded
Lane gave them the backpack and Dorian opened the portal "You two better be careful out there. Are you sure you're not gonna take Milky"
Paul shook his head as he stepped in the portal after Dorian "Let him accompany you and Lala so you wouldn't feel alone here when she sleeps"
Lane nodded and shouted as the portal closed up "You guys better get back in one piece! I'm not joking!"
Dorian portaled himself and Paul till they reached the forest but surprisingly when they got there, the area around the pit has been condoned off
The two quickly climbed up a tree as they listened in on the police officers that barricaded the area
One of the policemen who seemed to be of the highest status among the ones present received a call "Yes sir, we have tried sending our men in but we lost immediate contact and the ropes connected to them snapped"
The voice said something and the man replied "Yes sir, this Officer Cornier"
The man saluted as he replied to the voice "Okay, thank you sir!"
When he hung up the call, he said to his subordinates "ACP Sir said he will send a request to the Army for a dispatch of Special Forces"
The men cheered because that means they didn't have to go down anymore and their colleagues will be saved
The duo in the tree squeezed their faces and Paul whispered "Since when have the police been so effective? It hasn't even been half a day since the pit opened up and they've already gotten wind of it?"
Dorian shrugged "Let's just find a way to get in first"
Paul looked around "How do we get in when their attention and guns are all pointed at the entrance of the pit?"
Dorian looked Paul in the eyes "Do it"
Paul shook his head "I cannot hurt the innocent"
Dorian remarked "There are other innocents inside too and we have to get what we came here for even though we don't know what it is. Also, they're only a dozen men here, you can handle them"
Paul pursed his lips "But even if we do get in, how do we get out?"
Dorian rolled his eyes "I'll just portal us out then"
Paul darted his eyes back and forth from his hands to the police officers "But what if they get hurt"
Dorian shrugged "They are gonna get hurt and you know that"
Paul turned to look at Dorian "Why don't you just open a portal and use your psychic ability to throw them all inside?"
Dorian shook his head "I can't lift more than five people at once, what if they run back out after I throw them in, I can't continue throwing them like I'm playing basketball"
Paul asked "How big can you make your portals?"
Dorian thought about it for a second "At most two meters in circular width"
Paul looked at the police officers who were concentrated on one spot and Dorian realized what he wanted him to do "I can't, there are cars there too also the width is larger than two meters and like I said, I can't lift more than five people at once anymore and I'll be putting myself at risk"
Paul pouted "You just want me to use my powers on them"
Dorian pecked his lips "We have to get in quickly and leave quickly so we can get back to Lan, Lala and Milky as soon as possible"
Paul sighed and turned to the officers "Fine"
A officer came to pee and when he looked up to the tree, his eyes widened but before he could shout, his body fell on the ground and started convulsing
The same thing happened to the other officers that they couldn't even shout and just widened their eyes in shock as they experienced excruciating limb tearing pain all over but their bodies were still intact
Dorian asked as he saw that most of them were still conscious "Can you increase so they could pass out? We both know that your abilities can't kill them since at most they'll just pass out"
Paul said "But what if one of them has an unstable mental state and he dies, that could happen"
Dorian replied "Nah, just do it. Stop being so scared of killing also you won't even be killing anyone"
Paul shook his head "Just open up a portal and send them away, they can't move anyways"
Dorian shrugged "Alright then"
Dorian opened a portal and suddenly realized something "Oh no, I forgot that I can use my psychic ability when I open portals because I have to use both hands to be able to tear through the fabric of space"
Paul continued on as he stretched his arms towards the men to keep it in a balance so he wouldn't go over the limits "Then do that psychic portal and open it right under each body, you can do that right?"
