Chapter 4720 - Chapter 4720: The Strange Fellow

Chapter 4720: The Strange Fellow

The soul clone endured for roughly a hundred breaths within the Silver White World before being completely vaporized.

Compared to Baizhong's instant annihilation, that was an enormous improvement.

Although he still had not fully seen the Silver White World, Lin had observed clearly how the silver white substance vaporized him and had already devised a countermeasure.

The silver substance carried a destruction power akin to the Life Forbidden Zone's, stronger than the ruinous force drawn into worlds yet weaker than pure, unadulterated annihilation.

At the same time, as it vaporized foreign intruders, it dissolved itself as well.

Though omnipresent, its destruction moved from outside to inside in a process rather than a pure instant kill.

Ordinarily, its speed was so great that it appeared to be a one shot execution.

But if the intruder was strong enough, the substance still needed a little time.

Lin slowly opened his eyes.

"Any solution?" Baizhong asked at once.

"I have one," Lin answered. "Whether it works or not, only a test will tell."

Baizhong was stunned.

He had tried several times himself and died instantly each time, unable to find any answer.

Lin had tested only once and already formed a plan; workable or not, that alone placed him far above Baizhong.

Even Boyang was impressed. "Daoist Lin is truly beyond the likes of us," he murmured. "This old man also made several attempts and found nothing suitable."

"I will go try it," Lin said.

Even as he spoke, he had already stepped into the spatial tunnel toward the Silver White World this time in person.

He dared so only because he was confident.

Even if he could not completely unravel the world, he could at least guarantee his own safety.

Baizhong and Boyang exchanged a look.

"He just… left like that?"

"Daoist Lin really is extraordinary," Boyang said. "The Fate Supreme's deductions were not wrong at all. Lin's uniqueness is far beyond our imagination."

"He used Daoist Lin as a chess piece," Boyang added softly, "and may end up harming himself."

Baizhong caught the implication. "How so?"

Boyang waved a hand, opening an isolated space and lowering his voice.

"Lin has already chosen someone… to be the champion of this world…"

In the Silver White World, Lin stood at the exit of the spatial tunnel.

One more step would bring him into contact with the silver white substance.

With a thought, he unleashed a flood of Undying Spirit Arms from the tunnel into the Silver White World.

Smoke like vapor rose everywhere as countless Undying Spirit Arms were dissolved.

Each Undying Spirit Arm's power and defense had reached the border of quasi Supreme, slightly stronger even than Baizhong's clone.

For the silver substance to vaporize one required about three breaths.

Once vaporized, an Undying Spirit Arm instantly resurrected in the Spell World, needing less than two breaths to reappear.

Because the resurrection cycle was faster than the destruction cycle, their numbers could loop endlessly with no fear of exhaustion.

"The idea works."

After some quick calculations, Lin confirmed his plan was sound.

His Undying Spirit Arms could revive forever, boundless and inexhaustible, while the silver substance existed in finite quantity.

As it destroyed the Undying Spirit Arms, the silver dust itself was being consumed at a terrifying pace.

If he simply continued this war of attrition, the silver substance would eventually be used up.

It was a crude plan, but highly effective brutally straightforward and simple.

Soon, the Undying Spirit Arms had forcibly cleared a region entirely free of silver dust.

That area was perfectly safe.

Only then did Lin drift out of the tunnel at a leisurely pace, drawing the Calamity Scepter.

"Find the world core."

"Master, that method of yours is wonderfully practical," the Primordial Chaos Gem said, flattering him before immediately starting the search.

The Silver White World was small, so the gem quickly locked onto a direction.

It pointed with its tiny hand. "Over there, not far. Master, be careful there seems to be some strange fellow there."

A strange fellow?

A rule born being?

"Let's take a look first," Lin said without overthinking it.

He directed the Undying Spirit Arms to form a great wheel of ten concentric layers encircling him, then rolled toward the world core.

Along the way, vast numbers of Undying Spirit Arms were unceasingly vaporized and just as unceasingly resurrected within the Spell World.

No matter how many died, their total never fell.

Everywhere the rotating formation passed, the silver substance was devoured into nothingness, leaving Lin at the wheel's center untouched.

To him, the silver dust simply was not strong enough; it could not kill him in an instant, and so was useless for "courting death" in his usual way.

At his current level, places dangerous enough to push him further were rare.

The Life Forbidden Zone was certainly the best choice, but he still could not tamper with it.

Going there now would not be "reckless training" it would be actual death.

After a full day of flight, an uncountable number of Undying Spirit Arms had died and been reborn.

Lin watched with his own eyes as thousands of silver white mountains shrank smaller and smaller until they vanished altogether.

His presence alone had consumed unimaginable amounts of silver dust, leaving the world empty and bare.

At last, he saw the world core: an eight tiered pagoda.

It shone with silver white light, and Lin could tell it was the source of the silver substance.

"At last, the world core. Where is that strange fellow you mentioned?"

His gaze swept the area, but he saw no soul flame or any sign of the odd being the gem had warned about.

The gem pointed beneath the pagoda. "Down there that mountain."

A silver white mountain lay under the pagoda, larger than the others but otherwise identical.

Lin saw no soul flame; whatever it was, it was neither a normal living creature nor a rule born being.

As he studied it, hundreds of enormous eyes suddenly surfaced on the mountain.

They exploded with silver light, like volleys of arrows that punched through the defensive ring of Undying Spirit Arms in an instant.

Over a hundred beams struck Lin at once.

He made no visible response and was immediately vaporized.

His body vanished completely, leaving only the Calamity Scepter hovering in the air.

The silver radiance did not harm the scepter in the slightest; its power came from the Life Forbidden Zone's annihilation, and anything that could survive there would not falter here.

The Primordial Chaos Gem did not worry at all.

Purple light flashed at its side, and a freshly reformed Lin appeared again.

"Time rules and space rules," he said gravely.

He had not been frozen into inaction before.

He had reacted, but could not act.

When the silver beams flared, the time and space of that entire world collapsed.

The moment he saw the beams appear was the same moment they struck him.

Those rays were also composed of the silver substance, only dozens of times more concentrated; that was why they could pierce the Undying Spirit Arms' defenses like arrows.

Lin had no interest in finding some clever counter.

He simply raised the Calamity Scepter and swung.

Whatever kind of "strange fellow" it was he would smash first and talk later.

The scepter swelled to enormous size and swept across the mountain.

With a crack, the mountain shattered into dust, filling the sky with silver motes.

Light flashed.

The powdery silver substance rapidly recombined and, in the blink of an eye, merged again.

This time it was no longer a mountain, but a hundred eyed giant.

Silver beams lanced out once more, hammering into Lin.
