Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Three vs Two

Kent came crashing through the window, rolling as he hit the floor of the room. He looked up and started to survey his surroundings when he instantly realized that something was strange. He had just crashed through the window so the sunlight should be streaming into the room.

"Why is it pitch black in here?" Kent held up his spear to serve as a light source but it didn't work as he couldn't even see his own hand in front of him. 'Must be some kind of weird savantry?' Kent sighed annoyed that he had to deal with this alone.

'What kind of pirate captain fights without a crew?' Kent shook his head to clear his thoughts. He needed to focus on the battle ahead. Suddenly, a gust of wind whirled to life around him and he heard Alice's voice call out to him.

"Tyrant duck!" Kent didn't hesitate to listen as he hit the deck and heard something fly past him. He didn't know what it was but it seemed that Alisa had saved him so he couldn't really say anything.

"Why were you just standing there?!" Alisa exclaimed.

"I can't see right now! Which wouldn't be a problem if you two would just get yer asses in here!" Kent yelled back. He wanted to urge her more but with the current situation he didn't really have the time.

'I can't really do anything if I can't see. So I guess I should do something about that first.' Kent stood up from the ground while gripping his spear tightly. He then placed both of his hands on it and slammed it into the floor.

"Ground Current!" Lightning shot from Kent's spear into the floor and spread across it hunting for anything it can shock. Including a certain unassuming peccary.

"REE" Trouler screeched in pain as the electricity flowed into his cage.

"My bad buddy." Kent apologized. Edmund reacted quickly by leaping onto the nearby bed which was an unfortunate choice as the lightning hit the wooden frame and set it aflame.

"Shit!"

"Gotcha!" Kent pulled his spear out of the ground and launched it in the direction that he heard Edmund's curse.

"Oh double shit!" Edmund dove off of the bed to the ground avoiding the spear and letting it ruin a priceless piece of art that hung above the bed. He then punched the floor twice and gripped his chest. If Kent could see he would assume that the man was doing some sort of strange interpretive dance.

Well, he was doing an interpretive dance. That was the reason that Kent couldn't see. Edmund used his magic to inflict the first person that came into the room with blindness. That should make this fight easy. Right?

Edmund lowered his body onto all fours then started to slowly rock side to side like he was preparing to pounce. He slowly reached into his little pouch and pulled out two more knives. His bones cracked as he slithered up from the ground and expertly threw the knives at Kent.

"Kent, dodge it!" Alisa called from outside the window. She didn't want to go in until Kent was done. Was that helpful to him? No, but it was for her own safety. Besides, at least she was using her eyes to help him. At least that was the plan but Kent didn't listen to her this time and just let the knives dig into him without even attempting to dodge.

"Hey! I told you to dodge!"

"Shut up! I know what I'm doing." Kent said with a strained voice. He moved his hand to the grip of the knife then let his fingers slide onto the cool surface of the blade. He smirked.

"Good, you're just using metal knives. That'll make things easier for me." Kent dug the point of his spear into the ground again. This time, he dragged it in the direction that the knives came from pulling apart the floor as he did so.

"Ground Current: Conduct!" The lightning tore ground apart as it surged towards Edmund. He jumped again to dodge but was shocked, pun intended, when the lightning leapt off of the ground and followed him.

"Gah! What?!" Kent didn't waste anymore time as he threw his spear toward his opponent's scream. Edmund tried to avoid it but the lightning running through his body had temporarily paralyzed him. Meaning he couldn't even try to stop the spear as it dug into his stomach and sent another shock through his system.

"AAAAAGGGHH!" Ed screamed before collapsing to the floor unconscious, releasing Kent from his blindness. Kent winced as the sudden reintroduction of light stung his eyes and he laid eyes on his opponent. Edmund lay bleeding and twitching on the ground as the lightning slowly left his system. Seeing that the guy looked to be out for the count Kent called for the two that were left outside.

"Hey, come get the pig you two! I need a second."

Trouler let out an offended snort.

"Right, peccary. My bad."

Alisa lifted herself and Eric into the room, gently landing next to Trouler's cage. "See, Tyrant! You handled everything just fine! And you were worried about going in by yourself."

"I wasn't worried, I just know that three against one would have made everything much easier."

"Oh, well you're probably right about that. Or maybe things would have been more complicated fighting alongside two battle amateurs?" Alisa argued. Kent gave up arguing with the girl. She clearly had more to say than he did.

"Yeah yeah. You can be right, kid. Hey, Holiday. What are you doin' over there?" Eric was currently crouched over Edmunds body with his eyes locked onto the pool of blood leaking from the black-haired elf's charred body.

"I'm just admiring your work bro. This looks...beautiful!" Eric's eyes shined as he gently ran dragged his finger through the pool of blood.

"Dude, stop swoonin' over that corpse and help Alice get Trouler out of here." Eric nodded as he watched the blood on his finger drip down his arm.

"Okay!" He quickly collected a hand full of blood, rubbed it onto the rune under his shirt and moved to join Alisa. Kent watched that entire scene with discomfort on his face but didn't say anything.

'Everyone has something weird about them.' Eric walked next to Alisa, who started to use her telekinesis on Trouler's cage to carry it out the window. Eric frowned at the sight.

"Wouldn't it be easier to just open the cage?" He asked.

"Wouldn't it be quicker if you just shut up and let me do my thing?" Alisa responded.

"I'm just saying, I think if we just took him out of the cage first then, we could just carry him out of the room and everything after this would flow way easier. I mean taking the cage means bringing it out of the window then running all the way back to the port with it which will inevitably bring more attention to us than Mama Wolf would want meaning we'll end up making her mad." Alisa slowly turned to Eric.

"Can't you go just one day without trying correct me?" Alisa asked scornfully.

"Can't you go one without making yourself look stupid?" Eric countered.

"Can't you both go one without fighting!?" Kent shouted making Eric and Alisa quiet down. "Thank you." Kent walked over to the cage and analyzed it for a second before grabbing the door and yanking it off, allowing Trouler to hop out of the cage and snuggle Kent's leg.

"Eric's right, this'll be easier. Now let's go, we don't have much-AGH!" Kent cried out as suddenly three knives dug into this back with a fourth one flying past him and digging into the wall next to Eric. Eric, Alisa, and Trouler all jumped back in surprise as Mund was now standing while holding four more knives.

"Damn! That shock you gave us earlier really through off our motor functions. I can't believe that I missed like that." Eric instantly ripped the knife out of the wall and charged at Mund with the crest on his stomach roaring to life.

Mund threw two knives at Eric's legs which the boy easily avoided by jumping. He then threw the last two at him while he was still in the air which would have been a problem had Alisa not used her telekinesis to divert the movement of the knives. Eric wildly swung the knife at Mund's neck trying to end things quickly.

Mund easily dodged the wild swings of the boy and even got a few cuts on him instead. "Wow, don't have any idea what you're doing with that thing do you? And you're the freak that just rubbed my blood on yourself! That's so screwed up!"

"Shut up and bleed already!" Edmund smirked as he avoided yet another poor swing from the boy. He glanced over to the other two in the room. The one he had hit earlier was picking himself up from the ground while the spirit savant seemed to be panicking.

"What a bunch of amateurs!" He scoffed. Mund bent his back avoiding yet another reckless attack with ease. He swept at Eric's left foot knocking him off balance then punched him with all of his might, sending the boy flying into the wall. He waltzed over to Eric and took his knife back.

"A novice like you has no right to even think about using my precious knives." Edmund stabbed Eric in the leg making the boy scream in pain. Mund crouched in front of Eric's face with a wicked smile. "I'll deal with you after I clear the room." He then stood up and faced Alisa.

"Why hello our half-breed of relative! What brings you all the way to the city next to the sea?" Alisa didn't speak to the man and instead used her telekinesis to pull Edmund's knives out of Kent and shot them at him. Edmund dashed straight at Alisa, scarring her out of focus and made her instinctively move the knives around him.

"See, nothing but a bunch of spinless amateurs!" Mund went to stab Alisa but was stopped by a swift kick to his stomach from below. He gasped for air as another foot hit him on the chin dazing the man further. Alisa stood shaking with fear as Kent flipped up from the ground after having the knives pulled out of him.

"Whew, this is getting tiring. You two were right about not being able to fight!" Alisa stood behind Kent with her eyes wide.

"Well, I guess you two don't have to worry about that for right now." Alisa watched as Kent ripped his already torn and bloodied shirt off of his back. She stared in awe at the large, "Tyrant Storm" tattoo on his back. "As the captain of a pirate crew and technically the oldest one of us in this room it's my duty to watch over you two brats." Mund shook his head as he finally regained his focus. He snarled at Kent.

"You dirty bastard, you waited for me to get close just to do that!" Kent rolled his eyes.

"Please, I didn't wait to do that! I waited to do this!" Kent quickly rushed Mund and grappled him. He then dove with the man out of the window. "This won't kill you but it'll hurt!" Kent shouted as he crashed to the ground using Edmund as a cushion. Alisa looked down at the scene with her locked onto Kent.

"I guess, this is what it feels like to have a reliable brother?" Alisa said as a deep respect for Kent swirled within her heart.

"Alice, can you help me up over here! I can't move!" Alisa's gaze shifted over to the other end of the room where Eric lay against the door holding his leg.

"I guess that makes him the pain in my side brother."
