Seeing He Mingxue's surprised expression, Liu Ergou shook his head.
"Sigh, President He," he said, "there's an old saying: 'You can know a person's face, but not their heart.' Who can say for sure?" He paused before adding, "Besides, this is all just speculation. We don't have any evidence. What if it wasn't about your aunt? What if there's something wrong with the cosmetics? We can't be sure about that, either."
Liu Ergou's words sent He Mingxue into a thoughtful silence.
He's right, it's all just speculation. I don't have any proof that my aunt did this. It would be terrible to be too rash and wrongfully accuse an innocent person.
Seeing that she was silent, Liu Ergou continued, "Let's do this. We'll stop guessing and go straight to the cosmetics store to buy two new ones. Then we'll know for sure!"
Hearing this, He Mingxue's eyes lit up. "You're right! How did I forget that?"
