Just as Catherine finished tidying up, Byron and Violet emerged hand-in-hand from the vortex, appearing before her.
Looking up at Catherine, Byron flashed a wide smile. "We left *The Golden Deer* behind—it still has two days of sailing—and rushed back ahead of schedule. Sister, did you miss me? Surprise, huh? Hmm? What were you just doing?"
With his sharp eyes, Byron immediately noticed his sister's flushed face as she frantically tried to hide something. A corner of emerald green sheer fabric peeked out from the shoulder of her disheveled nightgown. Two piles of dresses also lay in the bedroom. It seemed she had just been changing clothes?
Noticing his gaze, Catherine quickly clutched her nightgown, covering the undergarment beneath. Hands on her hips, she snapped at him, "What are you looking at? Haven't you seen it before?"
