Chapter 89 - ACCIDENTALLY JOINING THE STARS

Six months later, most of the western sector lies hollowed and broken. Corpses litter the ruins, soldiers stained in streaks of purple, red, and blue blood. The air is heavy with smoke and the metallic tang of burnt circuitry.

Khaos naps in a shallow pool of that mixed blood, hums a low, beautiful lullaby, then opens his eyes. His voice is clearer now, each sentence longer, sharper. "Once I'm done here… the rest of the universe is next," he says, and the words carry the calm of an inevitable storm. With every battle his mind grows wider, faster, and more aware.

In the last fortified tunnel, Brad hunkers down with a thousand soldiers left, humanity's final line of defense. He looks exhausted, shoulders sagging beneath his armor. Into his comm he speaks with a flattened calm: "Ethan, today is the last day. After this… the rest of humanity is gone."

Ethan's voice comes back ragged. "I'm sorry, sir. We're tried our best... Our beacon still sits three levels below his main beacon. Even if we closed the gap, we've lost too much of our main power to even finish him off. Even after all these years of preparing..."

"Don't lose hope yet," Brad interrupts. "We'll keep on trying until the end of it."

At Ethan's camp the mood is darker. He wipes tears and confesses, "It's useless. Our beacon can't match his. We must pull back and fortify the town. The final line is going to fall sooner or later."

Pax slams a metal fist into a concrete pillar. Steel screeches as dust falls. "I'm not giving up!" he yells. "After everything, after those who died for this mission, I refuse to march back toward certain death. Our best chance is still here!"

Ethan, exhausted, shakes his head. "Were you not listening at all....."

Pax steps forward, voice steady now. "Then we'll find another way. Who's willing to keep on fighting?!"

A hush ripples through the gathered fighters. Heads turn. Pax presses on: "All of the surface groups have gathered here. So we should use this chance to fight together at full force! We'll tear down that digital field down until our beacon matches it!"

Ethan feels hope like a spark. "Wait.. you're right, if we all strike together, we may even tear down two levels of that beacon and if we use that empowered guardian as an explosive power of force. It could be enough."

Pax raises his fist. "Who's with me?!"

They all then lifts their weapons and fists into the air with a loud cheer of determination.

Moments later, Pax wears his mask and leads a hundred soldiers into Scarlet City. The convoy of cars and tanks rumbles forward. Ahead of them looms the massive robot guardian—now half the size of a city tower, its metallic form glowing with digital light.

Pax raises his fist. "It's stronger than before," he says, voice echoing. "But this is it! My Lilac, Scarlet, and Indigo people, this is humanity's last hope! Let's give it our all!"

The soldiers cheer, their voices shaking the ruins. The guardian hears their defiant roar and turns its glowing eyes toward them.

From afar, the tanks fire. Dozens of shells explode across the guardian's body, shaking the city.

Meanwhile, deep in the tunnel the last defense line braces as Khaos storms forward. Soldiers unleash a storm of bullets, but Khaos spins his massive bone blade, deflecting most of them. The few that graze his skin heal instantly from his beacon as it also pulse with red lights. He then locks eyes with Brad.

Brad tightens his tiger suit, his floating beacon flaring behind him. Khaos lets out a roar and charges, and Brad meets him head-on, the tunnel shaking with every clash.

Back at the ruined Scarlet city, Pax rushes forward. "Sky team follow my lead!" he shouts, launching his arm into the air. The magnetic force yanks him skyward, and dozens of soldiers fire their grappling hooks, rising with him. Below, tanks and cars rush in, launching rockets that streak across the battlefield.

Explosions bloom across the guardian's armor, hammering it backward but then, it splits.

Thousands of metal plates burst off its body, swirling into a barrier that shields the glowing digital cube field behind it. The smaller inner robot darts between the plates, channeling lightning through its core.

Bolts of electric fury explode outward from the metal plates. Cars erupt in fire, tanks melt under surging light. The sky fills with lightning explosions, soldiers screaming as they fall.

The guardian spots Pax and the Sky Group in the air. Lightning streaks upward. Pax pushes foward and punches through the electric blasts with his metal fist. "You're not the only one who's gotten stronger!" he yells. "I've upgraded these boys to match you!"

Each punch absorbs the lightning, storing it. Pax then slams his fists together, forming a dense, swirling metal sphere that draws in every bolt like a storm heart.

The robot halts its lightning assault and presses its hand into the digital field, tearing off a strip and letting it dissolve into its body. It glows brighter, larger, charging a massive plasma blast in its chest.

Then, it fires.

A blinding beam tears through the battlefield, vaporizing tanks, buildings, and men. Another beam slashes through the sky, wiping out soldiers swinging between towers.

The third beam locks onto Pax.

He leaps, thrusting himself toward the metal sphere, and drives it forward with all his strength straight into the plasma blast.

At the same time, in the tunnel, Khaos destroys Brad's beacon. Sparks explode as Brad's lightning fist meets Khaos's blade.

Side by side from different locations, Brad and Pax roars in unison!

Brad falters first. Khaos stabs his body in quick sessions in blinding speed, until his body collapses.

On the other hand, Pax wins his clash. The metal sphere bursts through the plasma blast, slamming into the guardian and launching it backward into the cube digital field.

A colossal explosion erupts.

The surviving soldiers pour every firepower they have left into the cube digital field. Pax crashes to the ground, gasping. "Come on, we can do it!" he shouts.

While Brad, bleeding out on the ground and whispers his last words. "The rest… is up to you guys…" His eyes fade as Khaos drives his blade through his heart.

Back in Scarlet City, Ethan and his team surge forward, driving their vehicles toward the cube field. Their digital beacon flares to life with a digital field, clashing with the cube's field. The two massive forces grind and pulse against each other.

"Come on! Keep pushing, it's breaking!" Ethan screams. Cracks forms across the cube, but it holds strong.

Pax watches as suddenly a surge of nanon tech shifts onto his chest. The tiger suit materializes over his body. He looks down. "Brad is…" he whispers, realizing.

Underground, Khaos bursts through the final tunnel gate and steps into the open as he's back on the surface, facing the town where the last of humanity hides. His low hum fills the town. But before he can move, He finally noticed his beacon is flashing red, warning signals pulsing wildly.

While, Pax tears off his mask, crushes it, and ignites his thrusters on his back. "BUZZ KHAOS!" he roars. "I'M HERE!!!"

He rockets forward, lightning trailing behind him, and drives his fist into the cracking cube field. The shattering boom echoes through the world.

In front of the town, Khaos's eyes widen as a digital screens appear around him, showing Pax's assault and Ethan hitting lots of buttons on his device.

As massive waves of data crash into Khaos's main beacon, mini explosions rip through it and sparks bursting like fireflies.

Khaos whispers, "Pax Orda…"

His beacon glows white-hot. Data swirls around him, and in an instant, he opens a digital portal and steps through, reappearing in the ruined Scarlet City, before his breaking beacon.

Pax flies in, his tiger suit flaring with power. He swings his lightning fist as Khaos thrusts his sword forward.

The collision splits the city in cracks.

Khaos then unleashes digital attack from his beacon on his back.

As Ethan and his crew drives by, countering Khaos's digital attacks with their own beacon's digital attack. With a desperate cry, together they hurl their beacon toward Khaos's main core.

Khaos turns, stunned for a single heartbeat, seeing the tossed beacon flying towards his main breaking beacon.

Pax uses that moment of distraction to his advantage. The tiger suit shatters, its armor collapsing onto his arm to form a single massive tiger gauntlet.

He roars and pushes harder. The gauntlet explodes with energy, breaking Khaos's bone sword, driving his fist into him as they crash into the flying beacon that also crashes into the breaking main beacon.

A cataclysmic explosion engulfs Scarlet City, the ground splits and towers crumble.

When the dust settles, Ethan stirs awake at the edge of a massive crater. His voice trembles. "Did that do it?"

All that remains below is rubble and the ruins of a fallen city.

From the rubbles, Pax staggers out, his tiger mecha suit falling apart in pieces. It took most of the explosion's force, but he's still bleeds heavily, purple blood dripping down his face and body. He looks around, dazed, until he hears a voice echo through the haze.

"Pax!" Ethan shouts from the crater's edge.

Pax turns to him, a faint smile forming,

but then a low, haunting hum rises from beneath the rubble.

He freezes.

A massive hand claws out of the debris. Then another.

Khaos drags himself free, his digital barrier shattering around him, his beacon on his back breaks and falls off sparking on the ground. Chunks of his thick blood armor also fall away as he coughs out blue blood. Even strands of his white hair fall loose, drifting in the smoky air.

Pax's eyes widen, tears mixing with blood.

"Why won't you just die already?!" he yells.

His voice trembles with rage and exhaustion.

"Just let me bring order your chaos already..."

Khaos's humming stops. He lifts his head, glaring through the smoke.

"Same goes for you all," he mutters. "Drop dead already… I will become-"

Memories flash through his mind

During the day of reckoning.

He lies bleeding in the arena, gazing up at the true form of an angel in space, radiant and yet terrifying. With a sheer of luck an angel feathers falls onto him as it brings him back to life and causes his mind to twists with obsession, seeing more visions of wings, rings, and eyes.

So obsessed to the point he wants become an angel himself, so in order to become one he must act like one.....a bringer of destruction.

The vision fades.

As Khaos and Pax charges at each other, fists colliding in blinding bursts. Each blow shatters stone, each impact sprays blood, blood shards, and metal fragments through the air. Pax's own memories start flashing too, to the moments when Ethan's slaves was dying, to his father's death, to the destruction of his home planet. His grief fuels him. He fights even harder and faster.

Khaos matches his fury. as he lands a crushing blow across Pax's jaw, sending him crashing through a hidden underground city door and crashes into a flight of broken stairs.

Blood pours from his mouth as his jaw hangs shattered. He groans, looking up to see old machinery, dust, and a massive circular gate glowing faintly in the darkness behind him.

Realization dawns on him as he realizes what it is.

Ethan drops down into the doorway, aiming his weapon.

"You're done for!" he shouts. "There's no way you can heal anymore!"

He fires a storm of bullets. Khaos dodges and blocks some with his blood armor, edging closer with every step.

Then Khaos lunges forward, driving his fist clean through Ethan's stomach. Blood splashes across the floor.

"For… humanity…" Ethan gasps weakly.

He yanks out the pins from a belt of grenades.

The explosion hurls Pax back to the ground. Sparks erupt from the ancient gate, flickers of unstable magic swirling around it. He screams, voice mangled by his broken jaw. Through the smoke, Khaos staggers out, his body a ruin as his all of his thick blood armor shreds off from his arms and his upper body. Lots of blood leaking all around his body as one of his eye is shut.

Their gazes then lock.

Pax sees it, Khaos's relentless will, that refusal to stop until every last human is killed.

He forces himself up, every movement agony.

They charge at each again.

Their heads collide, blood splattering everywhere, droplets hissing as they hit a nearby control panels. Electricity surges. The old machine awakens.

The massive Star Gate roars to life, a swirling vortex of energy tearing the chamber apart. The pull grows stronger, dragging debris, and fire into its core.

Both of them are caught in its pull.

Pax reaches for the ground. Khaos claws against the metal.

Their eyes meet one last time rage, sorrow, defiance before the gate consumes them both.

Pax and Khaos falls out of the swirling portal and lands hard on a platform made of pure light, floating around them are stars, the endless space, and the Universal Tree, its colossal branches glowing like rivers of galaxies, roots spiraling into infinite space.

They rise and charges at each other again as debris continues to call from the unstable portal.

Then, from far above the Universal Tree, a radiant ship descends, glowing brighter than a star. It flies down toward the branch where chaos reigns.

Inside the ship, a figure of light watches the scene.

Her voice is calm and resonant.

"This branch doesn't usually open. Fix this error."

A tiny polar bear guide then materializes beside the ship, its fur glimmering like crystal snow.

The ship hums softly, then rises back toward the top of the Universal Tree as the bear floats down with starlight forming behind it.

The little bear looks around at the sight.

"My my… what a mess."

It drifts toward the unstable portal and stretches out its tiny paws. With a slow, graceful motion, it presses against the glowing edges — and the vortex begins to fold inward, collapsing into stillness until only faint motes of energy remain and disappears.

The bear dusts off its paws, then turns to the two of them who is still engaged in battle.

"I can't allow you both to behave like this," the bear scolds. "Not when you're about to join the Star Games."

It shakes its head and claps its paws together.

A wave of gentle starlight magic sweeps across the platform.

The debris vanishes into magic dust as both Pax and Khaos collapse.

The bear floats between their bodies, mumbling thoughtfully.

"Hmm… no armor or weapons are allowed in the Games."

It hovers beside Pax first, tapping his metallic arms.

"Let's remove these weapons inside. They'll count only as your arms from now on."

A shimmer passes through his body as every hidden gun, blade, and launcher in his metal arms dissolves into magic dust.

Then the bear drifts over to Khaos, tilting its head curiously.

"Oh… fascinating. They'll have quite a lot to explain later."

It pokes his chest. "But we can't have all of this… nasty stuff on you."

The thick layers of hardened blood crumble away, evaporating into color — red, blue, and violet motes dancing through the air. Only his bare form remains, his skin still stained in those same hues like war paint.

The bear twirls in the air, its magic forming a bright ring around them both.

"I'll also heal all your wounds so you'll have a fair chance when the Games begin."

Starlight washes over them. Gashes close. Bones mend.

Khaos stirs first, growling as his eyes snap open. Pax follows, clenching his fists, ready to strike again

but the bear's paw glows.

"Rules must be followed," it says sternly. "No fighting outside the Star Games."

Light binds them both, shimmering ropes of energy wrapping around their bodies, as the bear claps.

A blinding flash engulfs everything.

When the light fades, Pax and Khaos find themselves standing in a vast celestial arena , God's Arena, surrounded by 9 billions of others.
