Asher had been released from the torture room to the hospital. When he had asked the bald muscular man who he had found beside his hospital bed, he had said that the boss had ordered his full treatment of his wounds. He had been admitted into a private VIP ward with full facilities and 24/7 feeding all funded by 'the boss'. But the man hadn't mentioned his total release.
Though he was happy that he was finally free from torture, he was also very worried that Lord Supreme had something else up his sleeve. He was not a man who let his enemies escape so easily. Or had he found Ava? The thought of that crossed his mind constantly as he recovered slowly from the excruciating pain that once travelled down his hand.
He didn't want anything to happen to Ava. There was a lot he didn't understand and he had to, because protecting Ava was The Phoenix's last order. The question was, how was he going to protect someone who he couldn't even find?
He wanted to really find out why that evil man had gotten planned out, seeking Ava out of the blue, there was more to this twenty-year old secret that The Phoenix had kept from him. True, he knew a little about the mythic world. He had done some research over the past years, collected a little about this place and had even met some individuals who were from there. He was also most certain that his master, the Phoenix was a very powerful person there. But there was only a little he could understand as he was just a mortal- the people that ran the mythic world were capable of ending him in the blink of an eye-
There was a need for him to get out of this man's custody, he needed to find someone- someone he had never thought he would need.
He had sworn the oath of loyalty.
And Asher Anderson was a man of his words.
.........…..
Aurora's engagement was just a day away now and with the maids still all busy with the preparations, Ava was rather bored and lonely. Prince Neville had suspended training until the whole thing was over and he didn't agree to give her Sweet. So, she had spent the entire day chatting with Rosslyn and Annabelle until they got busy with something else and she became alone again.
Then she thought of going out, perhaps that was going to cheer her up. Her mind instantly went to the forbidden area. That was the first place she had landed when she got here, there might be some clue or two about those images that she had seen the day before. Also, there was a lot of strange stuff about that place, why was the grass purple and deserted like some strange occurrence had both happened there? Why was the place even called 'the forbidden area' in the first place?
So, Ava set out for the forbidden area, bracing all the courage she had to muster. She snuck out of the building and to the stable where she saw a white horse left unsupervised. She didn't have any riding experience apart from the time Prince Neville took her-Which was in fact not an experience.
But Ava climbed the horse nevertheless and watched as it went slowly out of the gate, it was a very gentle one and she thought it liked her because it didn't fret. She only had a hazy memory of the way to the forbidden area because she was very tired the time they had dragged her here. But she knew that it wasn't too far and as she was going to probably figure it out.
As the horse moved, Ava tried to adjust her large dress which had tangled her leg in the side. She had though she was going to ignore it but then it made her feel a little uncomfortable- curse these overly ostentatious ball gowns!
So, she struggled to adjust her clothes, the horse was feeling a little uncomfortable so it trotted faster. Ava was unsure of how to control it and she held the reigns tightly.
The horse neighed loudly and began to gallop forward with full speed, Ava's heart pounded. She was unable to control it and her cloth was still tangled with her leg; it was as if she was going to fall any minute.
After a long gallop, the horse finally stopped abruptly between some bushes throwing her down on the floor with a loud thud. Her knee suffered it, a small bruise had appeared there.
"Ouch!" she groaned.
"Are you okay?"
She heard a female voice and was amazed by who she saw. It was Louise, her new friend!
"Uh…You?" Ava asked surprised, before the two girls was the vast, almost-endless forbidden area with purple grass and pale sky.
"Yeah…I just wanted to…Actually I come here sometimes…in fact I come here almost every time" Louise said, she had made her strawberry blonde hair into a ponytail and wore smart clothes as usual "Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah" Ava replied and stood up. "It's just a little bruise it'll go"
Louise was actually surprised, most of those royals and noble ladies were too weak to do anything, they screamed for any little injury like little pets to be cared for alone. She was amazed that Ava wasn't like that.
"So, why do you come to this place. You remember we met here for the first time?" Ava asked adjusting her dress.
"Well…I come here sometimes to open a portal to the human world. I don't actually know why Im telling you this because I know it's illegal to come here"
"Then if it's illegal why can't you open the portal somewhere else?"
"It's just because most people think going to the human world is something so huge and they believe it's only to be done once in a while. So, I come here to have my privacy"
"So, you go the human world every time?" Ava asked. If it was possible then they could both go together and she would probably look for Sir Asher and know if he was safe.
"Yeah, I prefer there. It's much more fun and I don't have to care about cultivating magic or my level" Louise replied. "Plus, I have a lot of friends there. No one really likes me here"
"It's funny because every time I see you, you are always breaking the rules" Ava smiled.
"Oh well, let's live dangerously as far as it doesn't hurt someone else" Louise simply said and they both laughed. Ava liked her, even if she was breaking the rules, she was careful of not hurting someone else.
"So, can I come with you to the human world?" Ava asked.
Louise looked at her and shook her head.
"I don't want you to get involved in this, besides, where I want to go…Im not sure you would want to go there. Are you sure you want this?"
"Yes, I really do" Even if she wasn't going to find Sir Asher today, she was really excited to have fun and meet all of Louise's friends.
"Okay Ava, let's do this"
