Sylas' mind entered a deep state of focus, sinking into the Mesh of Reality. One echo of the past after another swept over his senses, pulling and tugging on him in unexpected ways.
But now, he was far more ready than before, the impact on his mind lessening with every passing thought. It was almost like he was massaging his own senses into obedience.
The first thing Sylas noticed was that Demonic Will was truly different from his normal Will. Of course, he had always known this, but it was a fact he almost took for granted.
His normal Will was built on self-control, while his Demonic Will was built on self-assertion. One restrained, the other was a wild, controlled sort of chaos. One was flexible, while the other was rigid and unbending.
What the Demons saw as Will and what Sylas saw as Will were two vastly different things.
But what left Sylas wondering was that… he couldn't sense any "normal" Will here at all.
