Kairos's eyes flickered with something unreadable, and he froze for a moment, then cleared his throat. "You must be mistaken. Your pet just seems to like me—that's all," he reasoned, though I could see his ears turning a soft shade of pink.
'Cute,' I thought, a smile tugging at my lips. I was tempted to reach out and touch his ears, but I held back, amused by his rare, bashful expression.
Kairos moved gracefully, summoning a table and chair from the ground with a wave of his hand. "Let's take a seat," he said, gesturing for me to sit.
I nodded and settled into the chair, Glacier curling up comfortably next to me, content and relaxed.
"Before we discuss the main reason," I said, my face turning serious. "Did you just leave the Tripede here on purpose? Glacier could have died from its venom!"
Kairos's expression turned apologetic for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure, forcing a calm tone. "I'm sorry for that, one of the members didn't thoroughly clean this place."
