When I pushed open the door to Room 306, the professor was already there, standing at the front like he'd been conjured into place. A handful of students had beaten me there, murmuring as they claimed seats, but my eyes locked on him right away: he was wearing a robe similar of those mages at the magic tower. 'Does Gusion know him?' I wondered idly, slipping into a seat near the middle.
He cleared his throat as more students filed in, the door creaking shut behind the last student, and turned to face us with a flourish of his sleeves. "Hello, class," he said, his voice smooth and resonant. "I am one of the mages from the Magic Tower, Viggo Besturd, Master level, and I'll be teaching Philosophy of Mana and Aura Ethics." He flashed a smug smile, the kind that said he knew exactly how impressive that title sounded, chin lifted just a tad too high.
