The steps became increasingly synchronized.
Everyone coming and going knew that An Hao had gone through a life-and-death experience. Whenever someone saw her, they'd greet her and ask how she was doing.
An Hao smiled and responded to each greeting, gradually arriving at the kindergarten entrance.
"Dad and Mom will drop you off here. You two hold hands and go in by yourselves," Qin Jian said.
"No! Today I want Mom to take me in," Ning Chenguang said.
"Me too!" Ning Chenyang shouted along.
"You two are little men now! There are many things you need to do by yourselves! Go in on your own!" As his sons grew, Qin Jian had started to enforce strict expectations.
Ning Chenyang and Ning Chenguang both frowned tightly, clearly very dissatisfied with their father's arrangement.
"I'll just walk them in once," An Hao said with a smile. "I missed their first day of kindergarten, but I can't miss the chance to take them to their classroom now, can I?"
"Alright," Qin Jian agreed.
