Got that wrong, this wrong, oh that one too.
"Guys, you won't believe me, but I got a 100/100."
They're in English at the moment, and things aren't looking too great for Tulip. Tulip and her closest friends, Sasha and Layla, attend the same English class. Depending on your homeroom the mandatory classes like English, math, are taught there.
Because it's nearing the end of the school year, they're in exam season. English exams and Tulip, they haven't got along yet. Actually she only got 10 out of 100 questions wrong, but compared to her other subjects results, it is disappointing.
The one who spoke of a 100/100 is Sasha, and Layla snatches the paper out her hand, Sasha showing off to the whole table with consists of other classmates.
"What- this is my paper?"
"Awwh, you caught me."
Like Tulip, Sasha sucks at English. Although it's a tad different. Tulip thinks she suck, but she doesn't, and Sasha knows she suck, and she does.
"Ugh, I'm giving up. All I need is science. Mere English won't penetrate through my confidence! Mwahahah"
Face planting to the desk, Sasha groans then lifts her head up declaring her confidence. Honestly, what's with science maniacs like her?
"What are you going to do with only having good grades in science but average in the rest?"
"Join SE:TA, duh."
"?!"
The question was really so it can lead to a scolding but her friend said something so unthought of for Tulip and Layla, who straightened their backs and start invading Sasha personal space. Tulip takes hold of her shoulders and shakes her side to side.
"SE:TA?! What do you mean SE:TA??"
"What's so surprising guys ugh-"
"Who are you? You're not Sasha."
"Hey, hey!"
Being shaken side to side and Layla getting close up to Sasha face both shoving questions, Sasha extend her arms out pushing them off and stands up from her seat.
"Are you guys living under a rock? SE:TA is a science nerd dream!"
Sasha says with a silky voice and expression that's similar to when she's being a pervert, except right now she's looking up at nowhere, talking about space.
"Tulip, I'm surprised you don't dream of SE:TA too. They're creating history! Discovering it! Researching! A science genius like me belongs there."
Twirling in place, Sasha rambles on what's so good about SE:TA and why she's ' practically born for it '. Their classmates and Layla stares at her, looking at her friend that can be like an alien sometimes, or all the time.
Tulip again reminded of SE:TA thinks about the last conversation she had with Noah. That's right, last conversation. It has been not one day, two days, but three days since they have had a proper conversation.
These days it has been 'hi, hello' 'goodmorning' 'bye' 'dinner's ready'. The longest time they would talk is when Noah's Mum would ask for the other or ask for help from both of them.
And including that, Noah hasn't picked her up since! Every day, their walk to school would be the most awkward silence experience Tulip has ever experienced. She barely feels the sensation 'awkward', but now she is well aware of it, and she hates it.
Feeling so bothered like this, Tulip knows she should be the bigger person and just talk to him, but why her? She thought Noah would do better than letting her talk first. Yet he isn't doing anything, actually, he has made it a lot worse by not glancing at her or noticing her glances!
When she hesitated to speak more, Noah would rush out the room like he had something to do.
So even if Tulip speaks up, who knows if Noah actually wants to solve what's between them.
Annoying. He's really annoying!
Fortunately she does have Layla and Sasha to walk her home. Now that she thinks about it, maybe he's being so petty because of that? he's avoiding picking her up because he thinks going home with her friends is a lot better than going home with him.
Ah, she really has no idea. Noah isn't like that. Instead of petty he might be trying to adjust to the change. That's right, it's her fault that she didn't tell him it was a one time thing.
Well, she sees him everyday, and will when going home. Oh, on Monday he really gave her a scare. Going out for hours like that without informing his whereabouts to his Mum.
The first few hours she wasn't so worried, thinking he would be with Piper or Walter and Ronan. Talking of Walter and Ronan, Tulip remembers that the six of them planned hanging out after exams, she wonders if that's still happening.
Anyway, that's right, but a more hours passed and not only her but Noah's Mum started hyperventilating, so Tulip searched herself. The backyard, his bedroom, then the lake, Piper's house, Waler's and Ronan's house, then Lincoln and asked him to help her.
Good thing she asked Lincoln for help, otherwise Noah might've never been found, and who knows if he was planning to come back. When she saw his condition, dirty hair and clothes and red eyes that made known he cried, she didn't care for what and why he did that, hugging him and crying.
She hadn't cried that hard in front of Noah and his family since she experienced Noah leaving her for school the first time three years ago.
Unable to do anything about it right now, as she is in class, Tulip deduces that after school she must face him and have a proper conversation!
"Tulipp! We're going to become SE:TA duos!!"
Preoccupied with her thoughts, Tulip has no idea what her wild friend is talking about. Layla whispers across from her of what's happening.
"She took you not answering as a yes, you're now going to be her partner and join SE:TA. Sorry."
"??"
She can't have a moment of peace with these two, really. Yet Tulip spends the rest of the lesson giggling and chatting with them.
