Chapter 427 - Journey to the Sun Moon Continent

Hanhai City was the largest city in the western border of the Heaven Dou Empire, and also the biggest coastal and port city on the Douluo Continent.

The massive city was built along the sea, or rather, on the mountains by the coast. No matter how the tides rose or fell, it could not be shaken in the slightest.

After a month's time, Tang San brought the remaining two companions to Hanhai City.

Looking at the city before him, Tang San could not help but glance a few more times. This was the first time since coming to this world that he had arrived at a port city, so it was natural for him to feel some curiosity and doubt.

The gate guards merely took one look at the three of them. Seeing their luxurious attire and extraordinary bearing, they did not hinder them. After a routine inspection, they let them enter Hanhai City.

Sometimes, clothing and appearance alone could tell observant people about one's identity and status. After all, anywhere in the world, only those with insight and capability could get along everywhere.

Passing through the city walls and entering Hanhai City, Tang San, without hesitation, headed straight toward the docks after asking for directions.

Soon, they arrived at the port.

Here, ships filled the harbor—large ones, medium ones, and small ones.

Since their destination was the Sun Moon Empire and nowhere else, they could only choose a large vessel, as only such ships could travel the longest distances.

Before long, thanks to Tang San's monetary means, a ship over one hundred meters in length and about fifty meters wide agreed to take them aboard.

Though not the largest among the ships present, its hull was lined inside with thick plating to protect against certain fearless sea soul beasts from causing damage.

Such a design would naturally spare them many troubles.

As the ship set sail, Tang San gazed into the distance. After a moment, he calmly said, "You two must have escaped from the Sun Moon Continent, right?"

"How do you know?" The two looked at each other, eyes widening in disbelief. If they remembered correctly, they had never told him such a thing.

"Is that so hard to guess?"

Tang San smiled faintly and explained without concern, "First, your cultivation is clear. Under such circumstances, even if you were evil soul masters who had traveled many places and heard much from others, it would still be unlikely for you to know of such a rare place. Therefore, from this alone, I could tell you were from the Sun Moon Continent, and that you used less-than-peaceful means to barely escape."

"You guessed right. We did indeed escape from the Sun Moon Continent."

At this point, they no longer wished to hide it and said softly, "Precisely because of this, we know the location of the Sun Moon Continent and its route."

"In that case, I'm curious—what exactly did you do to escape your homeland and come to someone else's territory?" Tang San was puzzled by this, thinking for quite some time without figuring it out.

"Nothing much, just provoked someone we shouldn't have," one of them shrugged, giving a simple explanation.

"I see."

Tang San nodded thoughtfully, then began asking the two about the situation in the Sun Moon Empire.

While Tang San was aboard the large ship heading toward the Sun Moon Continent, elsewhere, Kong and Gu Yuena were also stepping into the city.

Although people around them looked at them with strange eyes, they did not mind in the least. After all, they were outsiders, and attracting curiosity was only natural.

"Where should we go next?"

Walking through the unfamiliar city, Gu Yuena asked curiously, her voice carrying a hint of wonder and vigilance.

At this moment, her gaze kept sweeping across every building, street, and passerby, as though trying to glean even the faintest bit of useful information from the unfamiliar surroundings.

"Of course, we'll find a hotel, have a proper meal, and then get some real sleep," Kong replied with utter seriousness.

He added with a knowing look, "As for gathering information, that's best done when we're well-rested and sharp. Don't you think so?"

For more than a month, they had been in constant motion, traveling almost without pause. Each day was either spent walking, riding, or preparing for the next leg of the journey. The food they ate was bland or outright unpleasant, leaving them with little comfort. At this moment, all Kong wanted was to eat until he was satisfied, then sleep soundly in a warm bed.

"Yes," Gu Yuena agreed without hesitation. However, a thought struck her, and she turned to him with a serious look. "Since we're staying at a hotel and planning to eat well… do you even have the currency used in this world?"

"Seems like I don't," Kong admitted after blinking in surprise, his expression freezing for a moment.

It hit him immediately—he had completely forgotten about that detail. "But no matter where we are, gold should still be a universal currency, right?" he said, though his tone was uncertain.

All he had on him were gold soul coins. If even gold had no value here, they might once again be left hungry and sleeping in the cold.

"How would I know?" Gu Yuena replied with a shrug, clearly uninterested in financial matters. She was entirely penniless, without even a scrap of local money, her pockets as empty as could be.

With no better option, Kong took the gold coins to test their worth. To his relief, although gold was not the primary currency in this world, it was still accepted for payment.

That single fact changed everything—they wouldn't be forced to sleep on the streets tonight. Instead, they could rest on soft beds, take hot baths, and recover their strength.

Using the gold soul coins, Kong booked two comfortable rooms and ordered a table overflowing with dishes.

While Kong settled in to eat heartily, Gu Yuena withdrew to her own room. She let the steam of a hot bath wash away the grime and weariness of travel. The sensation of warm water against her skin was almost enough to make her forget the long, grueling journey.

Afterward, lying on the bed, Gu Yuena stared at the ceiling and began to plan. How should they proceed in the days ahead?

She recalled what the Thunder God King had told them—that they had come here for the Light Origin Will, meant to counter the Dark Origin Will. Yet they had not a single lead on its location.

What if they searched for months and still found nothing? Would they even be able to return to the Douluo Continent? And if they could… how much time would have passed there? Would the world have changed beyond recognition?

One troubling question after another filled her mind, a chain of uncertainty that refused to break.

Gradually, her exhaustion overtook her thoughts. She closed her eyes and drifted into deep sleep. Without her divine power, she was only slightly stronger than an ordinary woman, and the strain of more than a month's ceaseless travel had drained both her body and spirit.

Kong, meanwhile, finished his meal and enjoyed his own hot bath. Unlike Gu Yuena, he let no thoughts weigh on him. Sliding into bed, he pulled the blanket over himself, and within moments, he had surrendered completely to sleep.
