Chapter 411 - Chapter 411: Journey to the Clear Sky Sect

Chapter 411: Journey to the Clear Sky Sect

Slaughter City—known as the sanctuary of the fallen—had now become their hell.

Endless black mist churned throughout the entire city. Even the interference of the God of Asura was effortlessly broken through by the black aura. The overwhelming power it unleashed drove every fallen one present into utter despair.

They didn't know who this person was, why he had come to Slaughter City, or why he was doing this to them. But they understood one thing clearly—if they didn't resist now, their lives would end here.

A moment later, under the gaze of the black mist, the fallen ones below erupted into a desperate riot, trying to use their overwhelming numbers to force a change in their doomed fate.

There were many people in Slaughter City. Although soul skills couldn't be used here, anyone who could survive in the inner city with any semblance of status had strength. Had it been Tang San taking action alone, even with access to soul skills, he would've been torn apart by these frenzied fallen ones.

"Like ants!"

Looking down at the surging mob, the black mist let out a cold sneer. A wild pressure blanketed the entire city. The energy it released seemed as if it might crush the very sky.

With a single sweep of its right hand, the black mist condensed into a massive black vortex, a mouth filled with terrifying devouring power.

"I don't want to die! I don't want to die!"

"Spare me! Please spare me!"

"I just escaped pursuit—how did I end up in this nightmare again?!"

...

Countless screams and cries of terror erupted at once.

They had hoped that sheer numbers might help them escape their hunter's grasp, only to find their efforts utterly futile. Powerless, they could only watch the final countdown of their lives.

"To serve as nourishment for my recovery—such an honor for ants like you!"

With those words, the black mist's eyes glinted. Drawing on the dark origin within its body, it swiftly devoured everyone in the city into itself.

"Who… are you?!"

At the final moment, someone finally managed to voice the question.

"I am the first darkness of this world… the first living being."

For the first time, the black mist declared its identity aloud before the world. But it didn't matter—none of those who heard it would live to spread the word.

Even if they could, it would be pointless. What it feared was never the God King of Thunder or even the Dragon God, but rather the will of the universe itself—and that woman whose beauty defied all logic.

"Not enough… still not enough."

After absorbing all the fallen ones of Slaughter City, the black mist shook its head, then turned its gaze downward—toward the Hell Road.

"What a fitting creation by the God of Asura. Only he could've crafted something like this."

Staring at the blood pool beneath the Hell Road, the black mist sneered, a look of calm indifference in its eyes.

Those who knew of it called it the greatest darkness in the cosmos, the most terrifying being in existence. But who would have imagined that humans were far more terrifying.

In front of a clever human, defeating the strong with the weak, and the many with the few, was mere routine. This is why, even though humanity hadn't existed long in the grand span of history, they had risen defiant against fate, wielding astonishing power.

As the black mist arrived near the Hell Road, a few bats, oblivious to danger, flew toward it.

Unmoved, the black mist merely glanced their way. A black current flared from its body and instantly consumed every last bat.

"The blood of others… is never enough."

After dealing with the minor nuisance of the bats, the black mist waved its right hand. It formed two conduits from the dark origin within, using them to absorb the power of the blood pool below. Then it asked, "Tang San, do you have any family left in this world?"

"Family?"

Tang San blinked, not quite understanding. "Senior, what are you planning?"

"Since we are now fused as one, the blood and soul of your kin can greatly enhance your cultivation and help repair the injuries within my body," the black mist said calmly as it continued devouring the essence below.

"In that case, I wouldn't know."

Tang San fell silent for a moment, then shook his head. A moment later, as if something came to mind, his eyes lit up and he said, "My father is from the Clear Sky Sect. So, if we devour disciples of the Clear Sky Sect, would that work?"

In his heart, he didn't care much about what the Clear Sky Sect even was. Since it could strengthen his cultivation, help him take revenge, and reach the pinnacle, then it was their honor to serve as fuel.

"We'll find out soon enough."

Just as the black mist finished speaking, it seemed to notice something. In the distance, two enormous figures were rapidly approaching.

They were the Dark Gold Three-Headed Bat King and the Ten-Headed Blazing Sun Serpent.

Originally, they hadn't intended to appear. Although there was still some distance between here and their territory, they finally lost their patience upon realizing this intruder wasn't passing through the trial but, like them, was absorbing the blood essence—and was nearly finished.

The reason they had survived here so long wasn't just because trial challengers occasionally showed up outside, but more importantly, because of the energy from the blood pool below.

"I had no intention of killing you, but since you've come knocking to seek death, then don't blame me."

Staring at the two approaching beasts, the black mist raised its left hand. A wave of power from the law of darkness surged forth, striking straight ahead.

The Ten-Headed Blazing Sun Serpent and the Dark Gold Three-Headed Bat King in the Hell Road were not particularly strong. If they had been, neither Tang Hao nor Bibi Dong would've made it out alive back then.

As one of the first beings to ever exist in this world, even a casual strike from the black mist was fatal. Let alone soul beasts—any Rank 99 Peerless Douluo in this world would have been obliterated on the spot.

And so, the two soul beasts came and went in the blink of an eye, not even leaving a trace behind.

As time passed, the blood pool below was gradually drained until nothing remained.

Without hesitation, the black mist departed from Slaughter City at once.

In the God Realm, the God of Asura returned to his palace. Watching Slaughter City below through divine power, his face was filled with helplessness.

That was his inheritance ground—now completely ruined. And worst of all, as its master, he could do nothing about it. It was a bitter pill to swallow.

Elsewhere, after reaching the outside world, the black mist returned control of the body to Tang San. It then instructed him to locate the so-called Clear Sky Sect.

Since it was once the number one sect under the heavens, there must be plenty of strong humans there. That meant another great harvest.

Tang San, for his part, proved quite capable. He soon discovered the location of the Clear Sky Sect's base. After all, the Clear Sky Sect had once been so famous that a bit of effort was all it took to uncover their whereabouts.
