Chapter 9 - Breakfast and Magic theory

Before he realized it, the fight was already over, and the simulation had ended.

"After cultivating, I can definitely feel like I can control my entire body to the max, like pro athletes can do on Earth."

Yuki had high hopes of advancing to the next cultivation realm because this fight had opened his eyes.

He understood that the disparity in strength was primarily due to the difference in cultivation levels.

This is actually kind of fun to fight; I've never really gotten a chance to have this kind of experience on Earth.

Yuki was thinking if he could take his cultivation level back to Earth with enough 'God Points' earned through the system, maybe he could be an immortal that could save the world one day.

What if there were aliens that would one day invade Earth?

What about natural disasters like earthquakes and tornadoes?

If Yuki cultivates to a higher level, then he could probably protect everyone from these events.

He made his exit from the dorms and went for breakfast.

"Oh, today's special breakfast menu is eggs and bacon with French toast."

In the Arcadia Magic Academy, the menu can change and vary from a wide range of food choices.

Over the past year, the cafeteria had served a remarkable variety of dishes — both ordinary and magical — reflecting the diverse tastes of students who came from all over the continent.

In the early months, when Yuki first arrived, the menu focused on simple, hearty meals to help new students adjust to their training schedules. Mornings often began with eggs cooked with mana-infused butter, honey-glazed toast, and mana milk—a creamy drink said to stabilize the core in mages. Some students joked that it tasted like warm vanilla and lightning mixed together.

Lunches were more adventurous. The cafeteria chefs, who were all trained culinary mages, prepared dishes like Flame-Broiled Wyvern Steak, Seaweed Rice Bowls from the Silver Lake, and Mana-Roasted Vegetables that shimmered faintly with color depending on their elemental affinity. On cold days, Yuki would always look forward to Frost Mushroom Soup, a smooth white broth harvested from fungi that grew in mana-rich caves. The soup was said to enhance concentration, and he could swear it made reading ancient texts easier afterward.

Dinner tended to be the highlight of every day. Large wooden tables would fill with chatter as students from every dorm crowded in, their laughter echoing across the enchanted dining hall. The chefs served meals like Golden Phoenix Drumsticks, rumored to contain trace fire essence that warmed the body from within, or Celestial Salmon, a rare fish caught from floating lakes high above the continent. For those who preferred simpler food, there were still plenty of comforting choices — noodle bowls with spiced broth, grilled cheese sandwiches with basil mana leaves, or rice porridge sweetened with mana honey and cinnamon.

Every month, the menu rotated to celebrate a different regional cuisine. During the Festival of the Moon Blossoms, desserts dominated the tables — starlight mochi, moon custard pies, and frozen berry tarts that glowed faintly in the dark. When the academy entered winter, hot dishes became popular: lava stew, magma bread, and ember coffee, all enchanted to keep students warm even in the snow that surrounded the academy towers.

Of course, there were also failures — dishes that didn't quite go as planned. Yuki still remembered the "Arcane Curry Incident" when a novice chef accidentally overcharged the mana crystals used to heat the cauldron. The curry began floating, then exploded into harmless but colorful sparks that rained down over the entire hall. Everyone had to eat sandwiches that day, but the memory became a running joke among the students.

By spring, Yuki had developed his own favorites. He loved the crisp mana-leaf salad served with roasted nuts and sparkling citrus dressing. It was refreshing after long hours of study in the library. When he needed energy, he'd go for Fire-Spiced Ramen—a dish that challenged even the most resilient taste buds with noodles steeped in burning mana oil.

Every day at the academy felt like a blessing. For an entire year, Yuki had maintained a routine of studying, cultivating, eating, sleeping, and repeating. However, he rarely slept, as cultivating felt like a form of rest. During cultivation, practitioners enter a meditative state where their minds clear of all thoughts and achieve a restful mode.

Fortunately, Yuki made many new friends at the magic academy. As the librarian, he managed most of the transactions between students checking out and returning books. The people at the academy referred to him as the "Book Wonder" because he was often seen reading while sitting near the circulation table. When students checked out books, they would have to call out to him several times before he noticed them, as he was usually deeply immersed in his reading.

After breakfast, Yuki headed to the library for his shift. After a year of hard work, he finally reached the level of an advanced mage and had saved up an impressive 945 copper coins from his job as a librarian.

Now, he wanted to live his life on his own terms.

The system indicated that "God Points" could be earned through significant actions that impacted the world.

All he could do was have faith in himself and strive to make a difference in his own unique way.

I mean, isn't it incredible to show off and be recognized as a genius mage?

He had already researched dozens of books about ice magic, all of which helped him grow as a mage and gain insights into magical combat. He had read books such as "Theory of Professional Combat" and "Levels of the Nine Elements."

Most of these texts focused on the theory that magic is the source of everything and can be harnessed anywhere, even in the absence of magicules in the air.

The key to this theory lies in the mage's ability to manipulate and generate magicules internally. Even in environments where magicules may be scarce or nonexistent, a well-trained individual can draw on the reservoir of energy stored within their own body. This ability indicates a deep connection and control over one's own magic reserve, allowing them to cast spells, perform magical feats, or exert influence without relying on the external environment.

Magicules can be thought of as small particles of magical energy that permeate the universe. They serve as the building blocks of magic, much like atoms are the building blocks of matter.

In this theoretical framework, where magic is the source of all phenomena, everything in existence can be traced back to these magicules. Elements, life forms, and even physical laws can be influenced by magical energy, which connects all things and enables the potential manipulation of reality through will and intent.

While Yuki was still checking out other books on the shelves, another mission was presented to him by the system.
