The mountain shook as the massive footsteps grew closer. Dust fell from the cave ceiling, and small rocks tumbled down the walls.
Tina clutched the newly fused artifact—the Wolf Fang—to her chest, her blue healing glow still pulsing around her hands.
"We need to leave," Aurora said, pressing her hand to her mostly healed wound. "Now."
Elias shifted back to human form, his body covered in cuts that were already healing. "The tunnel behind the waterfall. It leads to the surface."
But as they gathered the wounded fighters, something in Eli's face changed. His eyes narrowed, focused on Dante who stood near the sealed portal.
"Wait," Eli said, his voice low and dangerous. "Something's not right."
The Ancient leader, the massive wolf with shimmering fur, stepped closer to Dante. "You smell of them," the wolf growled. "The Hollow Ones."
Dante backed away, his hands raised. "That's crazy. I've been fighting them alongside you!"
