After finishing the IV drip, the doctor prescribed Wei Anning some Western medicine for her stomach. Gong Ting drove her back to the apartment. Along the way, both of them were weighed down with thoughts and neither spoke.
Wei Anning turned her head to look out the window. The roadside scenery blurred past, filled with blonde-haired, blue-eyed foreigners. Finding an Asian among them seemed impossible, yet she spotted that solitary and aloof figure in the crowd at a glance.
"Stop the car!" Wei Anning shouted.
"Ning'er, we're in the middle lane." Gong Ting was driving in the center lane, with cars to the right, making it impossible to pull over.
The car sped past, and that figure quickly disappeared from Wei Anning's sight. She lowered the window, letting the cold wind rush in. Unbothered, she stuck her head out, but she could no longer spot that familiar silhouette.
