River Maiden's area-of-effect fog can last for nearly thirty seconds, and enemies enveloped by it will be stunned for a period. Dou Yuan wasn't very strong, so this stun duration might not be long, but it should be enough to buy some time.
It was somewhat unexpected that Mount Flower opted to strike first.
