The phone in the room rang.
Tan Jincheng was still in the bathroom and hadn't come out. Gu Yi'an put down the milk in her hand, walked over, and answered the phone.
"Hello, who is this?"
There was silence on the other end of the line.
Gu Yi'an frowned and asked again, "May I ask who you're looking for?"
Still no sound, she pursed her lips, thinking it might be a prank call from some child and didn't pay much attention to it.
But just as she was about to hang up, there was suddenly a voice on the line.
"I'm looking for Tan Jincheng."
A somewhat low female voice.
Gu Yi'an was taken aback, "May I know who you are? He's busy right now; I'll have him call you back later."
"Are you his wife?" The female voice did not answer Gu Yi'an's question but asked back.
"Yes." Gu Yi'an nodded, "May I know who you are?"
"My name is Tong Yao."
In an instant, Gu Yi'an's hand that was holding the receiver tightened, almost crushing it.
"We've met." Tong Yao's voice was very calm.
