The attacker then looks at his hand with beastly claws with a curious look.
"Oh. Maybe I missed then." He says casually as they stand in silence for a moment. In a flash, Axe raises Komori and blocks a sudden attack from the man. A huge shockwave bursts out from the force of the attack as the man pushes against the blade. His eyes widen as his vicious smile grows.
"You lie!!"
The man shouts as Axe struggles to keep the attack guarded. As they push against each other, something catches Axe's attention out the corner of his eye. He looks over to see another man, none other than Maxus himself, standing there watching them with an amused look.
"Hello Director." Maxus says before the attacker throws his other fist at Axe so he uses his other hand to catch the fist.
Completely taken off guard and now busy with the current attacks, the Fracture then appears behind him and grabs onto his head with both hands. Axe's eyes widen as the Fracture releases a massive explosion at point blank, directly into Axe's head, obliterating the surrounding area.
As the smoke settles and dust blows around, Axe stands there panting with a scuffed up face and hair. He squints as a small bit of blood leaks from his head.
"I really hope you don't take this personally. I'm simply following orders, see." Maxus says as the Fracture pulls out the drive and hands it to him. Maxus looks at it and holds it out to Axe, who glares in response. "You see, these orders were put in place long ago. But now things are finally in motion. Honestly, I should thank you."
Maxus says as he starts walking around Axe and Komori. The Fracture and other attacker do the same, circling around him slowly.
"Thanks to you and the other Directors being so busy with upholding that academy's ideals, I've been able to amass an army of Torn basically undetected. I was even able to bring a Rascilian soldier here!"
Maxus says enthusiastically. Axe's eyes widen as he looks at the attacker, now known as a Rascilian soldier, but with that moment of distraction, the Fracture snaps its head arm at him and strikes Axe across the face. Axe quickly refocuses as Maxus continues.
"You'll give him a good fight, right? He's never got to fight a Director before." Maxus says as the Rascilian almost salivates at the thought. "And don't worry about those kids. I went ahead and dropped somewhere around 36 Torn into the city? They'll be handled soon enough." Maxus says as Axe looks worried only for the Rascilian to strike him across the face again before falling back into formation. Blood drips from Axe's mouth as Komori looks worried.
"Axe, focus. The kids can handle themselves." Komori says as Axe looks at Maxus once again.
"That's what I wanted to thank you for! Bringing that girl here. The one with the purple eyes. I'm sure you've been able to tell but one of them possessing the Dark Arm?" Maxus says as Axe again is shocked by his words. "Talk about special! I've already got the drive, she's just the bonus. Once we kill you, and take her, there will be no stopping us."
Maxus says as the Fracture snaps again but Axe dodges back then immediately spins and tosses the attacking Rascilian over. He slides to a stop with an aggressive look as Maxus waves his hand, calming him and stopping his walking. Axe chuckles to himself before laughing out loud. Maxus stares at him, that subtle smile never leaving his face, as Axe takes a deep breath in, looking up to the sky.
"Teach alone is more than enough for you. Let alone the other Directors. Let alone South himself. Bring him back, bring them all and you'll still lose. Those kids won't give up and neither will I." Axe says confidently as he lowers his head, staring straight at Maxus. "I'm not the one gonna die today." Axe says intimidatingly as Maxus grins at him.
"No, you aren't." He says before the Fracture and Rascilian charge Axe at full speed.
Elsewhere, Phoenix steps back and leans, throwing up an energy shield that is quickly dispersed as a Torn slams into it and is thrown overhead behind her. She quickly turns and ducks a slash from another before slamming her flame energy covered palm into its chest, sending it hurtling into a building behind it.
Moshiro side steps a Torn's slamming fist before quickly lifting her leg and slamming it into the Torn's head into the ground. She lifts her leg again as the white energy scales glow on her leg.
"White Hollow.. Stamp!" She shouts as she slams the Torn's head into the with great force, crushing the ground beneath them.
"This is way more than a few!" Phoenix shouts as she flips forward and slams her foot into a Torn's head and into the ground as well.
"I know! I can't get a good reading of how many there are!" Moshiro says, jumping back as she dodges another Torn.
"Let's go with 36, that seems like a good number to assume." Phoenix says with an anxious smile.
"36? How'd you guess that?" Yoko shouts before drop kicking one away.
"I didn't. Just a.. just a feeling. But they aren't coming just for us. They'll attack anyone, so we have to deal with them fast."
Wolf responds, blocking an attack overhead before throwing her arms out, pushing the Torn back. She then quickly drives a punch into its chest before slamming a few more punches into it, crunching with each hit causing the Torn to fall to its knees. Another Torn charges her from the side so Wolf quickly back fists it across the face before looking Yoko's way.
She sees as Yoko grabs a Torn by the neck with their tail and slams its down before throwing it away. Yoko turns to keep fighting but behind them a larger Torn with a boney and dangerous looking club for a hand steps up and prepares to strike Yoko from behind. Wolf gets an intense look before dashing their way with Darkstep.
"Yoko, get down!-" Wolf shouts, grabbing Yoko's head and shoving it down, only to be struck across the face by that very attack. Blood spills across the ground as Yoko watches with wide eyes only to get enraged and build fire in their mouth.
"Blast.. Bite!" they shout, aimed at the large Torn and a couple others diving their way. As they shout, the fire builds up and instantly blasts out with a massive beam of fire from their mouth, incinerating three Torn almost instantly. The fire blast goes on for a bit before disappearing as Yoko closes their mouth with smoke coming out and an angry look. Wolf looks over with a slightly hurt look and a smile.
"Well that worked a treat. Think you could do that again?" Wolf asks as Yoko looks at her and shakes their head a bit.
"I'm not very good at fire breath. I'm sorry." Yoko says with a sad look as Wolf gets up and adjusts herself.
"That's alright. We got this anyway. Only 33 left, come on." Wolf says with a smile and offering her hand to Yoko, who takes it softly and gets up. "We need to focus on protecting the people. These things aren't gonna just stop and focus us. Moshiro and Phoenix are probably doing the same right now. Take them outside of the city, I think local authorities have evacuation centers starting to pop up." Wolf says as Yoko looks at her.
"You really know all that?" They ask. Wolf keeps her eyes focused and looking forward.
"I hope they do. It's the right thing that should be done." She says firmly as Yoko understands.
"Okay." Yoko says before stretching out their wings and flying into the air. "I'm gonna try and bring in some of the monster things. Keep them on me." Yoko says as Wolf nods back before they fly away.
Wolf stands there for a moment before looking around. She stares at the destruction before hearing a scream in the distance from a civilian. She takes a step forward before her soul pounds for a moment. Wolf grabs her chest tightly for a second as she takes a sharp breath with concerned eyes.
She breaths heavily for a moment before exhaling deeply, trying to regain focus. She lets go of her chest and looks at her hand with a confused and concerned look as her hand shakes a bit. She clenches her fist and shakes out her head to push the feeling away and stay focused before rushing off.
In the city, Axe jumps back as Maxus and the Rascilian jump him. They charge and swipe at him as he narrowly dodges, holding Komori Staff in his hand. He leans back before thrusting the stuff forward at them, causing them to dash apart from each other.
Taking advantage of their splitting, Axe snaps the staff up and slams it into the Rascilian's nose, flinging blood out of it before thrusting it into his neck, causing him to choke for a second. As Axe thrusts the staff forward, he leans in, avoiding a strike from Maxus, before quickly spinning the staff around as Maxus spins, only to be met by the staff striking him across the face, sending Maxus hurdling backwards.
Through the smoke, two flashes of light beam up as the Fracture prepares to blast again. Axe turns sharply and launches Komori staff at it as she glows and transforms, spinning sharply and slicing through its arms as a chakram.
As Axe does this, the Rascilian dives at him from above and slams his beastly claws into him. He shoves Axe deep into the ground as they break through into a subway under the ground. Axe hits the floor on his back as the Rascilian goes to punch his head into the floor but Axe moves his head out of the way sharply.
Axe then drives his fist into the Rascilian's side before with great force before slamming it into his face, throwing him off of Axe. He quickly gets to his feet as the Rascilian snaps his head over with a sharp smile.
The Rascilian takes a sharp breath in as fire and smoke build up in his mouth and he prepares to strike but Axe speed blitzes him and slams his palm in the Rascilian's mouth, shutting it with a smash. Axe then grabs his jaw with the other arm and slams the Rascilian into the ground head first with great force.
As soon as the soldier hits the floor, his looks up only to be met by Axe dropping kicking him in the face, sending him slamming into the wall of the station. The Rascilian bounces of the wall and lands on all fours with blood falling from his mouth. But he looks up with a crazed smile as wings burst from his back. They are large and tattered but quite intimidating.
The soldier then lunges at Axe with insane speed, his claws pulled back to strike as Axe stares at him sharply. Right before the Rascilian can strike, a pink glowing something comes spinning through the hole and down to them, slamming right into the soldier's back into the ground, causing a huge shockwave to burst out.
A large Komori hammer lays on the Rascilian's back as Axe grabs it and pulls back. The soldier quickly gets up only to be met by the hammer slamming into his face and sending him flying back up to the surface.
As he bursts out, Maxus covers his face from the debris, with the Fracture standing right across from him, and sees the soldier falling through the air. Out of the hole, Axe comes flying up using Flystep but the Fracture is ready and instantly blasts at him.
As if expecting this, Axe quickly spins in the air and narrowly avoids the blast as it flies past and hits Maxus right into the face with less force than intended. As soon as Axe lands, he blitzes to the Fracture as Komori giant knife glows with a purple hue. The giant knife is slammed down right in front of the Fracture as an airburst shoots out as aftershock of the attack.
"First Quarter." Axe says as the Fracture begins to fall in half from top to bottom right down the middle. "Since you're not carrying the drive anymore, I don't have to be careful about how I strike you." Axe says before lifting Komori and suddenly slashing with absolute speed leaving behind only trails of his cuts before the Fracture begins to fall to pieces.
In response, the Rascilian dashes at him and throws a heavy punch that is blocked by Axe with Komori but the soldier then slams his elbow into the blade, pushing him back and off balance a bit before slamming a heavy uppercut against Axe, spilling some blood from his mouth.
The soldier swings again but Axe leans over avoiding the attack narrowly and swiping the blade across the soldier's chest. Axe pulls Komori back as she glows purple and prepares to attack when suddenly, Maxus speaks.
"Book of Black: No. 9 - Empty Chains." Maxus casts as dark purple energy chains burst from the ground and wrap around Axe's body, restraining him. The Rascilian quickly drives a heavy blow into Axe's stomach, causing a lot of blood to pour from his mouth before being struck across the face.
As Axe leans over from the attack, Maxus quickly grabs onto his face and straightens it out as the Rascilian punches Axe in the face with great force. Blood flies through the air as Axe is forced to stay in place. The Rascilian quickly turns and charges again from behind when Komori quickly transforms into a spear with the blade jetting his direction, impaling him through the chest almost instantly.
In response, Maxus rushes to grab Komori but before he can, Axe lets her go so his grab misses and instead, Axe quickly grabs onto Maxus' hand himself. In an instant, the red Frequency electricity Maxus was using shifts purple as Axe reverses it against him. Maxus shouts as the Frequency is shot back into him for a moment before he rips his arm away, stumbling back.
"You damned can-" Maxus grunts but Axe flexes hard and shatters the spell chains around him before striking Maxus across the face hard. He then follows up by driving a few more punches into his face before Maxus jumps back, Axe giving chase.
The Rascilian watches with intense eyes as he tries to pull Komori out of his chest but he can't seem to budge her.
"Make a move and I'll turn into a halberd in your chest." Komori warns as the Rascilian looks shocked and frustrated.
