As I stood on the rooftop overlooking the vibrant streets of the Entertainment District, a message suddenly reached me through my connection with the Vampire Brides.
"My lord, we have found the demon responsible for the disappearances. She is currently residing in Kyogoku House under the name Warabihime," the bride reported.
As expected. I had already known the culprit was Daki, one of the Upper Moons, but I thought we'd have more time before she was found. Things were moving faster than I anticipated.
"Have you located Uzui's wives?" I asked.
"Not yet, my lord," the bride responded. "But we are still searching."
"Understood. Maintain your cover and keep watch," I instructed before ending the spell.
I exhaled, my gaze shifting to the grand establishment that housed one of Muzan's most prized demons. So, it was finally time.
Without wasting another moment, I reached out to Uzui using my magic.
"Uzui, we have a lead."
A sharp inhale came from the other side, followed by a muffled curse.
"What the hell?!" Uzui's voice rang in my head, clearly startled. "Alex?! Is that you?"
I smirked slightly. His reaction was understandable. He wasn't used to telepathic communication.
"Relax," I said. "I'm using magic to talk to you. No need to freak out."
Uzui exhaled loudly. "Damn it, at least warn me next time. I thought a demon was whispering in my head or something."
"Noted," I replied. "But we have more pressing matters. One of the Vampire Brides found the demon responsible for your wives' disappearance. She's in Kyogoku House, going by the name Warabihime."
Uzui's tone turned deadly serious. "Warabihime… An oiran. Tch. Should've guessed."
"She's an Upper Moon, Uzui. Daki," I confirmed. "That explains why your wives have been unable to send reports. They're either in hiding or being held captive."
A tense silence followed before Uzui responded. "No bodies have turned up, which means they're likely still alive. Damn it. We need to get them out."
"That's where I come in," I said.
Uzui narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"
"I'm going in to speak with her."
Uzui scoffed. "Are you insane? She's not some street-level demon you can just intimidate into submission. If she suspects anything, she'll kill anyone in her way—including my wives."
"Which is exactly why I need to handle this carefully," I countered. "You rushing in with your blades swinging will only make her go on the defensive. We need information. I need to confirm where she's keeping your wives first."
Uzui gritted his teeth. "And what do you expect me to do? Sit here and wait while you have tea with a damn Upper Moon?"
"Yes," I said simply.
"Like hell I'm—"
"Uzui," I interrupted, my tone firm. "This isn't about pride. If we make the wrong move, your wives could die. Do you trust me or not?"
He was silent for a few moments before sighing heavily. "Tch. Fine. But the second things go south, I'm coming in."
"I wouldn't expect anything less," I replied. "Stay stationed outside and wait for my signal."
With that, I ended the spell, cutting off our connection.
"Shalltear, wait here; I will call you if necessary." I said.
"Alright, my lord." Shalltear replied.
Now, all that was left was to meet Daki.
I turned toward Kyogoku House, adjusting my coat. The warm glow of lanterns bathed the building in an inviting light, the sound of laughter and shamisen music filling the air.

As I approached Kyogoku House, the lively atmosphere of the Entertainment District surrounded me. The soft glow of lanterns illuminated the street, casting long shadows against the wooden buildings.
Laughter and chatter filled the air, blending with the delicate notes of a shamisen being played somewhere nearby.
Using magic, I became invisible. Then I entered Kyogoku House, where I saw the Vampire bride, without wasting any time, standing silently in the corner of the room, her presence unnoticed by the humans bustling around. She bowed slightly when she sensed my arrival, though no one else could see or hear us.
"My lord," she whispered through our mental link, "Warabihime is currently in her quarters upstairs."
"Stay here," I ordered the Vampire Bride. "Keep watch and continue what you are doing. I'll have a talk with Warabihime."
She bowed again. "As you wish, my lord."
