Chapter 245 - Chapter 244 - The IWC Delegation Arrives.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Dumbledore could not deny that he was a little disappointed. Severus had ignored his request to come to his office to investigate some memories, especially the one Slughorn had given him of his own free will after everything had happened.

It was their way of investigating the Horcruxes.

But in a way, it was also understandable that Severus did not care much about him. Dumbledore had tried every scheme to find out what the boy was before acting against this unknown threat.

In any case, he also believed that he would find the objects, since he had the most recent piece of soul taken from Voldemort. And he had made him his servant, which sent chills down Dumbledore's spine.

Necromancy had always been taboo in the wizarding world, but what he saw there was beyond anything recorded in this world... And he knew why. That power was beyond this world, it was something extraterrestrial.

And to think that out there, in other worlds, there were beings that could be considered gods... In any case, he did not want to think more about that while he believed Severus could easily locate all the other Horcruxes.

Dumbledore wanted to believe that, although, when looking at yesterday's newspaper, he saw that Severus was also spending time with other things.

There was a newspaper with a cover story about none other than Severus — or at least about people related to him — for it showed four girls shopping at a Muggle clothing store, in some mall, those luxury commercial centers built by non-magical people, while carrying shopping bags, also non-magical.

According to the author and reporter of the article, it was reported about the four fiancées of Lord Prince, who had been living in his mansion in recent days. According to privileged information obtained by reporter Rita Skeeter, there were also details of how she was trying to portray the relationship as more of a harem of Lord Prince than a traditional marriage.

According to her, the girls were trying to deal with it by accepting the condition of the relationship, since it was not an official marriage, but rather a way to see if this type of relationship would work or not, hence a multiple engagement.

They ended up going into the Muggle world in search of fun among girls, to get to know each other better, all wearing the same ring given by Lord Prince. It was not customary among wizards, but rather a Muggle custom to mark those women as his official fiancées.

The report began giving details of each one: there were two pure-bloods, one half-blood, and one Muggle-born — a rather strange combination for someone who had taken on the name Prince, publicly being the richest man, even though the family was not among the Sacred 28. That was because the Princes never sought so much prominence, besides being known as a family full of very talented potions masters.

It is likely that at the time Cantankerus Nott wrote about the main noble families of England, there must have been some feud with the Princes, which is why they were not included in the book.

No one really knew what was there. However, it was obvious that the Prince family should have been among the Sacred 28.

The Greengrass family and the Black family had given their women as future wives of Severus Prince, also emphasizing that the Greengrass family had no male heir, wondering if it would be their son who would take over or Severus Prince himself, who would then have the power of two families in his hands.

Obviously, the news was not only about the girls, but also poked at Severus for not responding to any summons from the Ministry of Magic, which demanded that he go to the Ministry for a hearing about recent events. Everyone was waiting, while he was isolated in his mansion with his fiancées, according to the reporter.

Rita also said that Severus's taste for women who were not pure-blood was due to the fact that he himself had been born half-blood, and she spared no words when speaking about his father and his life in the Muggle world, sounding quite cruel, as well as sharing information from his years at Hogwarts.

Some people even asked if that reporter knew who she was messing with, and they would not be surprised if she turned up dead in the following days.

In any case, Dumbledore looked at the newspaper and closed it, while seeing photos of Severus being spotted walking with Bellatrix Black at a luxury restaurant and even a hotel in New York, in the United States.

Dumbledore was somewhat relieved by this as well, for the boy seemed to be living his life with his romances, like a normal person. He did not seem like someone who wanted to rule the world.

At the same time, a part of him was still disappointed, because Tom Riddle was not dead and they still needed to seek the Horcruxes. However, he would not pressure him. If that was his desire, so be it. But things would now become complicated, and he had had better chances before that day.

So, he rose from his desk, calling Fawkes to accompany him. He threw the Floo powder into the fireplace and disappeared.

There was another newspaper that day, speaking about the arrival of the ICW with powerful teams to deal with the problems in England. Many criticisms were directed at the Ministry and the wizarding community, who had let the chaos unfold over the past 18 months.

They did not speak only about the matter of monitoring Snape, but also about England's incompetence in preventing the chaos during the attack on the Muggle city, where Voldemort's assault and the battles in the middle of Muggle streets resulted in several explosions here and there, while the war between the two dark wizards was waged.

Dumbledore arrived at the Ministry, and Alastor Moody along with Arthur Weasley, both part of the Order of the Phoenix, came to receive him.

"Albus, it's finally good to see you." Moody said.

Other Aurors also approached Dumbledore, since the visit had been anxiously awaited. If they said they were not nervous, they would be lying. Bartemius Crouch and Kingsley joined them as well, exchanging a few words before the arrival of the main guest.

"Well, shall we go to the room to wait for our guest? For the young lady must be on her way right now," Dumbledore said in a friendly tone, full of humor. Everyone looked at him with admiration, for he was the only one who could address that woman in such a familiar way.

"Of course, let's go."

They entered the Ministry and proceeded to a room where there was a fireplace. In this room, there was a crowd of people from all departments of the Ministry and even important families present. Whether Aurors, people from the Department of Mysteries, Prophecies, and many others — the Ministry was mobilized to receive that one person.

Dumbledore conversed with many, being among the first, along with the Minister of Magic and the Head of the Department of Magical Law, composing the main figures to welcome her.

About fifteen minutes later, the fireplace flames rose and people began to emerge, one by one. Two men dressed like mobsters, entirely in black — uniforms of the guards of the International Wizard Police — appeared first.

They quickly scanned the area with wands in hand, checking that everything was secure. Soon after, a woman emerged behind them — she was tall, of somewhat advanced age, but with undeniable delicacy.

Like a well-mannered lady, she walked with her heels sounding through the area as she advanced, her hair completely white, yet still displaying elegance and wisdom. Soon after, new bursts of flame erupted behind her, bringing forth a group of guards in the same uniform as the first, while she calmly advanced toward Dumbledore and his companions, who awaited her.

"It has been a while, Dumbledore. I was tempted to seek you out as soon as I learned that you had disappeared." The woman spoke in a serious tone.

"I appreciate your concern, and it has been a while, Lady Vicência Santos." Dumbledore smiled. It had been more than fifty years since that woman had held the post, since the conflict with Grindelwald, when she had won the election against the feared dark wizard — and also against another contender from Japan, though without intentions as sinister as the latter.

At the time, Dumbledore could even have taken her position, but he refused, for he did not consider himself ready for it. She, however, expected him to take her place upon her retirement. Something that was about to happen, but the events in England had postponed that decision. With so many horrible things happening in the country, the ICW could no longer remain idle, and Vicência herself summoned special teams during her visit.

"You look well." She observed him closely, studying him, while Dumbledore remained calm and serene.

"A lot has happened, Vicência. Let's just say my absence has ended up opening my eyes to many things... things I would like to discuss with you."

"I see. Well, I won't say I don't want to hear it, especially since I too have received quite troubling news that is not being spoken of... both from England and from other places. But that doesn't matter now. Let us talk, but first let me speak to everyone."

She then began to reprimand the Minister of Magic, who did not escape a scolding. The man had angered the vampires and could have caused an international incident, for which he would have been the main culprit. To make matters worse, the entire movement against the Dracula family had resulted in nothing, only creating unnecessary quarrels.

This would certainly be disastrous for his career. Perhaps he would not be able to keep his position as Minister after such a mistake and display of incompetence. Even though he had identified who the Dark Lord was, things had gotten out of control.

"Anyway, let us move on to something more private. But first we need to wait for the next people to arrive, since we need them." The Supreme Chieftain said, turning her gaze to the fireplace, which exploded once again, revealing another group.

Everyone turned, alert, many knowing who they were. That was the most powerful task force in the world regarding magic. At the front was a short man and everyone could see he was a gnome, while many made faces of disgust at him and at the woman at his side. She was a woman with long white hair, tall and with a youthful appearance, with intense red eyes, revealing herself as a vampire, and a very powerful one — probably the same Rosaria had spoken of.

There was also a woman with blue hair behind them; she wore chains and golden ornaments, like someone of royalty, and she was extremely beautiful. There was an elderly man with a magical staff speaking with her, looking very much like Dumbledore, and on her other side was also a large, fat man holding a strange object in his hand, as if it were a Muggle weapon, but made of runes and glowing.

The last two members seemed to be children, who followed the group behind with curious looks at the crowd. They looked like children, but at the same time they were not.

No one could say exactly what they were, for their ears were pointed. They resembled house-elves, but at the same time they were not, since they looked far more like humans than the miserable creatures that elves were.

It was easy to see that they were also brother and sister, having so much resemblance to one another.

"Let me introduce: the Sentinels of the Veil, the team I summoned to England to help us with your problems. This is the greatest magical task force in the world to deal with every type of threat. And they are under my trust here. We are going to resolve the matter of Severus Prince." Vicência said in a serious tone.
