Chapter 241 - Ancient calamity crafts(2)

Adding on some durability properties to the individual senbon as well as piercing properties and finally the thing was finished. Maybe to some people they'd find this outcome disappointing given the power of the Knuckelavee's materials and their potential but I didn't. Sure I could have made something that fully unleashed the calamities power upon the world but I didn't want that. I wanted a powerful weapon against it's users enemies and ONLY the enemies. So that is what I made. To a living thing the toxins would be devastating.-

To the environment though? Next to harmless thanks to how focused the toxins are. Perhaps you could taint a water source and the surrounding area if you were to leave the senbon in it but that is what the teleportation technique is for. Unless you were willing to render the weapon useless to taint an area the moment the last senbon is used all of them return to the box and their influence on the surroundings stop. This minimizes the collateral damage while not taking away from the weapons lethality. I even took the safety of the user in mind by coating the fingertips of the gloves for the set in draconite.-

Thanks to this the user wouldn't need to worry about the toxin soaking into their fingertips when they threw the senbon. A nice neat ridiculously lethal package deal. And when I say lethal I fucking MEAN lethal. The sheer toxic potency of those senbon are enough that I was fairly certain even the giant would have begged for death if struck by them. Think rapid necrosis but like a thousand times more aggressive and you'd have an idea what getting hit with one of these would be like.-

I set the set aside for now to move on to my next project, armor. Taking a piece of the giants hide from the roll I pushed my technique to it's limit to fully refine it the best I could. I especially emphasized the durability and elasticity of the hide when I did this. I traded some hardness for this but it was still acceptable for me. I needed both stopping power and mobility for a truly perfect armor. A lot of people misunderstand and think you just need a stiff hard material to cover your whole body to be best protected, those people are wrong. A good armor needs defense and durability of course but there is more than that. -

It needed to let you move as freely as possible and have enough give that you don't get effectively tossed about inside of it. Armor NEEDED to deform when hit as this lessened the amount of force transmitted into the wearer. It was the same way most cars back on Earth were designed to crumple on impact. This helped lessen the amount of force that the person in said car was exposed to. Anyways I wanted my armor to deform on hit but never be punctured. It was far easier for an adventurer to survive being pushed incredibly hard than it was to survive a new hole being opened up in their chest.-

This armor wasn't for me so this point stood irrefutable. I was an anomaly since even crushing my body to paste as the giant had was nothing more than an inconvenience so long as my head and cursed energy remained intact. Even decapitating me wouldn't work as I could just reattach it. Nothing short of completely destroying my head or exhausting my cursed energy would be able to kill me. -

I suppose soul based destruction would also work but things that did that were even rarer than hens teeth. Anyways the point is I frankly didn't even need armor for anything but my head. This set of armor was meant for Bell and wouldn't be unique as I'll make one for each of my familia members. Each armor will be slightly different however as each persons role was different. For Bell the armor was going to be flexible and sturdy so he could go as fast as he liked while well protected. Creating this armor was a simple matter as I literally measured each and every member of my familia in secret with my technique. -

I knew literally every detail of their bodies down to the longest and shortest hairs on them. I was a professional and kept the naughty bits of that particular information strictly relevant to the fit of the gear. For Daphne and Welf their armors were similar to Bells with Welf's being a little stiffer and less flexible as he wasn't acrobatic in how he fought. Lili was the only one to receive an armor that could be said to be unreasonably stiff in all but the joints.-

There was no helping it really as the way she used her magic to turn into metal meant she was a straight up tank despite her petite appearance. Her role in the party was being a wall that soaked up attacks while literally throwing her weight around. She didn't use any weapons because once transformed her body WAS a weapon. Her torso a shield while her hands were axes and hammers. In a manner of speaking her magic was similar to my own cursed technique but far more limited. It was limited to only her and couldn't let her heal herself or really shapeshift her body too far. -

But so long as the volume and shape of the thing she was transforming into wasn't too different than her original one she could become anything. That didn't apply on a material level originally but I created a way for her to change materials as well so her magic went from assassin adjacent to straight up tank. Thanks to this though she only needed armor for when she wasn't transformed as otherwise she was next to invulnerable.
