Chapter 300 - New Quest

Chapter 300 - New Quest

They headed for the tripartite peace talks' venue.

Halfway there, they ran into Sona and her peerage, also on their way as observers.

Sona's eyes flicked to the box in Kiba's hands, her brow furrowing.

"Rias, what's with the… luggage?"

Rias sighed, scratching her cheek.

"It's Gasper."

"Gasper?" Sona's voice hitched, her curiosity spiking.

Why the hell were they dragging a cardboard box to a meeting with the three leaders.

"Yeah, he's knocked out," Rias said, clearly embarrassed.

"If he was awake, no way he'd come quietly. Turning into a bat would've been easier, but…"

She trailed off, shaking her head.

Akeno chimed in, her tone playful but sharp.

"Mahiro's worried someone might sneak past the barrier during the talks and hijack Gasper's Sacred Gear for chaos."

Sona nodded, her expression turning serious.

"That's a real concern."

"My sister warned me about possible troublemakers crashing the meeting."

"Gasper in the wrong hands would be a disaster."

Lately, Gasper's panic-induced time-stops had hit Sona's peerage more than once during his "training" with Koneko and the others.

They'd felt firsthand how terrifying his power could be.

If some rogue faction got hold of it, the talks could go down in flames.

"Hope the Angels and Fallen Angels don't pitch a fit," Rias said, frowning.

"We're good with ourselves—but the other two might not like us waltzing in with an unconscious someone."

They'd already stirred up trouble with the Angels and Fallen Angels.

Taking in Xenovia and Irina, plus Mahiro's takedown of Kokabiel, hadn't exactly won them fans.

Bringing Gasper might look like they were flexing—or hiding something.

"It's for the meeting's safety," Sona said, adjusting her glasses.

"They'll get over it."

"Here's hoping," Rias muttered, forcing a smile.

The two groups kept chatting as they reached a large classroom, now the talks' venue.

Armed Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels lined the corridor, their eyes scanning for any threat.

A Devil guard at the door nodded to Rias and Sona, swinging it open.

Inside, a massive conference room awaited.

A fancy round table sat in the center, surrounded by the three factions' leaders.

The vibe was heavy, like a storm about to break.

Sirzechs sat tall, his crimson hair and sharp suit radiating authority.

Serafall wore a light green dress, looking almost proper for once.

Across from them, Michael, the Angel leader, glowed with a golden halo, his white robes and face outshining even Kiba.

Beside him, Azazel, the Fallen Angel Governor, rocked a scruffy middle-aged look, his dark coat screaming rebel vibes.

No one spoke.

The silence was suffocating, each leader eyeing the others—wary, hopeful, but ready for anything.

Two others caught Mahiro's eye.

Grayfia Lucifuge, in her maid outfit, stood poised near Sirzechs.

And leaning against a wall, smirking like he owned the place, was Vali.

Asia grabbed Mahiro's sleeve.

Xenovia, Irina, and Jeanne shot nervous glances at Michael.

Rias and Sona dropped their easygoing attitudes, their faces tight with focus.

Vali's eyes locked onto Mahiro, his grin widening.

"Few days, and you're already way stronger."

"Our big showdown's getting closer, huh?"

His voice dripped with excitement, like a kid eyeing a new toy.

Mahiro's lips twitched.

"Keep dreaming," Mahiro shot back, smirking.

"You'll wish you trained harder when I mop the floor with you."

Vali's eyes gleamed.

"Bring it. Don't go down too easy."

"Vali, cool it," Azazel snapped.

"This isn't your personal fight club."

Vali chuckled, raising his hands.

"My bad, Azazel. Got carried away seeing my rival."

He leaned back against the wall, eyes closed, but his smirk didn't fade.
