I couldn't risk being followed by my best friends so I ran into a very busy market, bought a sunglass, a cream colored cowboy hat and a jean jacket, I followed Camilla to a rusty old store, there I grabbed a bandana and used it to cover my mouth, I was being a spy, and following her, till I mistakenly bumped into a woman carrying a basket of grocery, I tried to look for her after that but she was nowhere to be found.
I turned to my back and she pushed me to the nearest wall. She placed her arm on my neck while used her second hand to hold both my hands.
"Who are you, and why…..the hell, are you following me?" Camilla questioned, but I was quiet.
"Okay, you quiet, let's play…the quiet game", Camilla said and cracked her neck, without the use of her hands. She stared deep into my sunglass, IT'S was like she was looking through them and into my eyes, I couldn't move, and all she deep was stare deeper and deeper.
"What? What are you doing?" I asked frightened.
"Wait a minute, that voice... I know you, you're that new kid from school" Camilla said and ripped off my bandana and removed my sunglass.
"What in the world, why are you following me?" Camilla asked confusedly.
"Because I, felt like" I answered awkwardly.
"Go your rich home, or whatever", she said, and picked up the groceries she was selecting and made for the exit.
"No, I don't wanna chose to do that" I said following her and wearing back my sunglass.
"Camilla, this mail came in for your Mum, be sure to give it to her", Mr. Pat told Camilla and gave her a small but heavy box. Camilla's hands were filled, so she dropped everything she was holding to carry the box.
"Thanks Mr. Pat", Camilla said and carried the box on one hand and a whole lot of groceries on the other.
"Life, right" I mourned holding my bandana.
"Won't you pay for that?", and I ran back to Mr. Pat's supermarket and gave him all the money that was in my pockets, including a tiny gold.
"Thanks for that", I thanked Camilla when I came back to her presence.
"If you want to thank me, do me a favor and go to your Mummy Golden Boy", she insulted me.
"Well...If I go, who's gonna help you carry all this?" I asked with a grin.
"Help me with this then, will ya?" she gave me the box, as she dropped it on my hand, my hand almost dropped to the ground because of how heavy the box was.
"Wow, this box is, surprisingly heavy…"
"And yet you call yourself a man".
"I call myself a man, but you look at me like a boy".
"That's because, you are a boy"
"Let me prove to you that I am not a Golden boy, but a Golden man".
"And how will that happen?"
"Let me...Buy you something, let me take you somewhere for a meal. See I know there is only you and your Mam, and this food can't satisfy only you, so please let me but you, something to eat" I tried to sound convincing.
"Mm…fine, just cause I'm hungry" she frowned.
"Yes! You won't regret this" I said being very excited.
"But I already am", she muttered.
This was going to be my first ever date, of course she didn't look at it like that, but I took it as a big deal. I know I am like; the best thing that could ever happen to a girl but, anytime I come this far with a girl, something in me would just say 'NO', if IT'S a date, I would lie I was working, a hangout, my tum tum would grumble, but now, so far so good, for now.
I took Camilla to a very high class restaurant, red was the restaurant's theme color, and fancy was the restaurant's motto. I loved places like this cause I was taught to never ever settle for less. But Camilla on the other hand, didn't like the pace one bit, she was uncomfortable and anyone who saw her would know that.
So this wasn't going well as my 'Dream Date' but what can I say. I ordered Eva wine for her which was un-alcoholic and was my favorite wine, she liked it, but her trying to be classy and fancy made the wine glass incidentally drop from her grip. That moment was so awkward that almost everyone attention was drawn to our table, she couldn't bare the shame so she ran out of the restaurant rather angry than sad, I paid with my card as quickly as I could, and ran after her.
I later found her close to a cross walk, trying to get across the road.
"Let me help you with that", I offered.
"NO!!" she barked at me.
"You said it would be good, satisfying, fun, I can't believe I actually bought all those lies" she yelled at me furiously and tried to cross, but I held her hand.
"You may think I was lying, but believe me I thought you would like it", I paused and inhaled "I was taught to like those type of things, so I thought you would also like and enjoy them, but since you don't like them, show me something you like" I begged.
"Well…am still hungry" Camilla hissed playfully.
"You won't regre…"
"Please don't say that again. These time we will do this my way, we will start with something heavy, like chicken and sauce" Camilla grind.
"And I know the perfect place to have the best Chicken, come on" She gave me all the groceries and dragged me back to Mr. Pat's supermarket.
We later got good and quality food, Camilla had chicken, sauce and roasted hot dogs, I had my good hold Burgers with French fries. We sat there by the front of Mr. Pat's supermarket next to a standing poster that says.
Your fancy recipes are ready
Chicken

Canapé
And much more.
I don't know how I didn't see that the first time, we sat on two iron chairs that was round a small sized plastic square table, the awning of Mr. Pat's supermarket was like a roof under our heads, it was barley covering us from the beautiful night evening sky.
"Now that's a satisfying meal", Camilla smiled for the first time, sincerely.
"I've gotta admit, I didn't actually think that would be so…good", I said while cleaning my mouth with a serviette, but was interrupted by Camilla's belch, which followed her laughter, I couldn't afford an awkward moment, so I also laughed.
"Thanks" Camilla said.
"No thank you for showing me this great spot", I thanked her before tying back my bandana.
"Now you and your Mum will..." I stopped noticing she was sad.
"What's the matter", I asked sounding caring.
"I just remembered, that there's only me and my Mum. If only…" she exhaled "Never mind" she gave out.
"Please don't ever say that, I don't want to ever 'Never Mind' so please… go on", I begged her.
"When I and my Mum came into America, the experience we got was very awful, we were so poor, and so not aware of what we were walking into. Just for me and my mum to see my Dad, she planned a surprise visit to America, thinking America was this small, fairy tale world, were nothing bad happens. She taught when we got to America that somehow, coincidentally we would find my Dad, and we would be like.
'Surprise', but you know what? America is just like the jungle, every man for his self and his family, well when my mother finally got in touch with my Dad, that was after weeks of sleeping in the streets, he said he was no longer in America, that his job took him around the world. He blamed my mum and the fight they had over the phone, destroyed our only chance of going back, Home.
Well after realizing our situation, Mum took six years old me and went to go live in where people like us called home, THE TRENCHES, my mum got a job, that paid very little…Mm.
Like that just wasn't great enough, this so called bastard rich people came to plant an industry very close to our house, it made so much smoke, which unfortunately brought...so much rain, the smoke affected my mother's lungs and she got sick, with a baby, her Bosses baby. I was ten then, and I was really excited and ready for a new brother or sister. But somehow, because of the smoke...The baby died", by now Camilla was crying.
Wait a minute, did she just say an industry in the trenches, I heard our company had a branch in the trenches, can it be that, the company that affected Mrs. Diego is…Nah!
"Sorry, I am so sorry", I tried to be compassionate.
"Well don't be! My mum's boss also was sad, but he couldn't let us rot in the trenches, so although he wasn't rich, he gave us a permanent small apartment, here, and gave my mum a job. I have never seen a man like him, his name was Solomon Parker, but now he is late, and my mum is still sick, and the real owners of the building we live in, is using all authority in his power to try and legally move us, Evict…us, out of the apartment.
So ya, my life is probably screwed, now I think my life is a ticking time bomb, once it ticks it's last tock, back to the TRENCHES we go". Camilla said and dropped her head on our table.
"Jezz, I actually didn't know, that was why you, hate rich people", I said.
"Yep, cause no matter how rich they are, they won't give, and they will never give", Camilla said still leaving her head on the table.
"I wish they was a way to...wait a minute. I've solved it!" I startled Camilla.
"What are you talking about?" Camilla asked.
"Your mum isn't feeling well, right"
"Yes"
"And you guys are most likely to move soon, right"
"Yeah"
"And I need to show you that I'm not like those rich people right"
"Where the hell are you going with these" Camilla raised only her left eyebrow.
"I can help you and your mum, and then you would see I am different from other rich people", I smiled.
"Wait, hold on, hold on, do you think I would just collect money from you", Camilla said and my happiness immediately died. But I still tried to have the answer to everything.
"What if? You show me things that you do, your way of having fun, you would be like a tourist to me, and I will pay you with, Money" I smiled.
"That is...…not actually a dumb idea", Camilla also smiled.
"Please, I am about to close" Mr. Pat whined when he came out to ask for money.
"Take my card, the pin's 3-5-3-5", I gave him my card so he won't interrupt us.
"Let's go! I pulled Camilla up from her sit and dragged her to a close by alley.
"What is this" Camilla asked confused.
"You see", I said and took her deeper in, then behind the fog coming from the alley we saw beggars, lying in cartons and cuddling with newspapers. Camilla was feeling compassionate but I was smiling, I dragged all the groceries Camilla was holding and shared it amongst all the beggars that were there, after doing that, I drew Camilla out of the alley.
'Are you crazy, what was all that for, for pit's sake that's my second dinner and my mum's first" Camilla roared.
"If you want it so bad, you could go drag it from every last one of those beggars, I know how strong you are, you can do it" I smiled and waited for Camilla's next action.
"What are you up to, just spit it out", Camilla snapped her finger.
"If you're gonna be my minister of FUN, you have to look the part", I told her and turned on the location in my phone.
"What did you just do", Camilla asked.
"3, 2...", before I could say 1, Kenneth my driver from nowhere drove my limousine swiftly into the alley, but no one was injured.
"Shall we", I stretched my hand for Camilla.
"Well, Fine", she gave me her hand, immediately I got her hand, I pulled her with me into the limousine.
I took her to a very enormous boutique and bought every cloth she tried on including the ones she admired, and sent them to her address. The boutique was paparazzi free, so I could be the Gold boy again, I mean; Gold Man, that sounds nice.
She finally decided on the outfit she wanted to buy, so I also bought them for her, we passed by a very wide market, the vibes the market was giving Camilla made her excited, so she came out of the limousine and dragged me with her.
"Okay, my minister of Fun", I offered her my hand "where do we start".
She took me to different shops in the market we bought lots of exciting things and groceries, when we got to the end of the market, we met a festival, we joined it and fun took us far away, we danced, mimicked the artists were singing, and we had fun, a whole lot of it. Everything that has a beginning, has an end, the sun had to set on our Fun.
She walked out of my limousine and left the door open, when she reached the door of their apartment building, she turned back at me and stared at me through the opened door of my limousine.
"Thank You", she silently whispered, I didn't hear her say it but I could read her lips. When she was out of sight, I shut the door of my limousine.
"Where to now, Sir?" Kenneth asked.
"Home Kenneth, my fun as set sail beyond my reach for today", I told him, and he slowly drove me home.
Camilla went into her apartment and met her mother surrounded by everything I had bought for them.
"Camilla...Where did?" Mrs. Diego stammered while trying to ask a question, but Camilla just smiled and embraced her mother. That was how her mother got a grip on what was going on, and how so many things arrived at their door step.
"If I could wish for only one thing, I would wish for your happiness", Mrs. Diego told her daughter; Camilla, and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"And I would wish for your happiness, momma", Camilla said.
"I am always happy, seeing you happy my dear", Mrs. Diego smiled.
