Aksai shook his head lightly before speaking further.
"But of course, I do not wish to interfere with how you manage your people. Please consider my words as nothing more than a suggestion."
He bowed lightly. Haan Di Lord watched Aksai in silence for a moment, and the respect in his old eyes deepened further.
The Haan Di Lord stood quietly for a moment, deep in thought. His eyes stayed on Ren, and there was no hiding the displeasure in them. Ren lowered his head, but his shoulders were stiff, clearly nervous about what was coming.
After a long breath, the Haan Di Lord turned to Aksai.
"You are right, lad," he said. "I kept thinking only about choosing the strongest disciple to be my heir. So I let them run free and fight among themselves to prove who was best. But I never stopped to think that strength alone is not enough to lead people on the right path. A person needs the right attitude too… the right mindset."
