The night wind gently swept through, and though it was late spring, it was still a bit chilly. After being in the night wind for so long, his body suddenly shivered; he shrugged his shoulders and dragged his feet towards an abandoned cabin deep in the Baiyang Forest.
He had been staying here for the past few days.
The cabin in the forest had long been deserted, practically just four bare walls, barely enough to keep out the wind and rain.
Suddenly, a clap of thunder rumbled in the sky, prompting Bai Xian to quicken his pace. He had no desire to become a drenched rat, so he sprinted towards the simple little cabin ahead.
He managed to get inside the dim cabin just before the first drops of rain fell.
Removing his bamboo hat, he couldn't see clearly in the dimly lit space, as it was pitch black. He felt his way along the wall, remembering there was a wobbly table up ahead. He had bought some candles in town yesterday...
