The body gently descends.
Her knee touches his knee, and she slowly extends her hand, one hand gently gripping his arm, the other hand caressing his cheek.
Her eyes gradually redden, seemingly with pity, yet also with longing, as she gently strokes his face.
"This is a face I'm very familiar with, and a face I will never forget for the rest of my life."
Tears begin to gather in her eyes.
"It's my fault, my stubbornness caused you harm. I held tightly to the past, unwilling to let go. I also wondered if I was too selfish. I blindly thought that if only you remembered the past, recalled those things from before, our family could be together again. But I never asked you if you wanted to remember, whether you wanted to recall those things from before."
She smiles slightly, and tears start to pour down.
