Whether or not Sangvis Ferri dolls are allowed to enter the city is clearly not a concern for the group of Sangvis Ferri dolls.
Of course, not all Sangvis Ferri can go along. Besides Renault's original Jaeger, only the Elite Sangvis dolls Scarecrow and Maria can go.
After all, the identities Renault created aren't dolls, but completely human identities.
While they might not stand up to scrutiny, they're perfectly adequate for just going into the city to shop.
Furthermore, because all the dolls at home have had their root protocols deleted, their behavior patterns have changed from normal dolls.
They'll be easily spotted, so it's better to just have a human identity than for the dolls at home to go through the trouble of imitating their pre-deletion appearance.
Anyway, as long as they don't carry weapons or wear the standard uniforms issued by IOP to tactical dolls, few people should be able to recognize their true identities.
Of course, the main reason is… it's easier this way…
To enter the city as a human, one first needs permission from the local authorities, then permission from the local security contractor or the military, and then, if it's a tactical doll, it also needs to be under the control of Statesec.
In short, there are a whole bunch of regulations and rules for dolls. With so many of them, processing each one individually would take forever.
It's much simpler to just use a human identity.
"Come on! Write down your identification code first, and those who have given themselves names, write down your names! Write down everything you want to buy! Don't make a mess of it!"
Alchemist stood there smiling, with several pens and papers on the table in front of her.
Scarecrow breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Alchemist wasn't acting strangely when she was supposed to be. If she suddenly started acting out and giving these Rippers some kind of philosophical lecture, that would be a real headache.
Fortunately, Alchemist is quite reliable when she's in good shape, at least more so than Intruder and Executioner.
Those two are completely useless bastards; one's always slacking off, and the other's always drinking. If A-91 hadn't mentioned that they could try other kinds of alcohol after leaving, Executioner probably wouldn't have disembarked with the others.
The WA2000 crew members who had been watching the commotion nearby widened their eyes in surprise upon hearing Alchemist's shouts.
"Seriously? Even the Rippers can buy things? Commander Renault pays them?"
G43 and Stg-44 were also taken aback. After all, in their eyes, both the Rippers and the Vespids were just ordinary autonomous dolls with very low autonomy.
They hadn't expected Renault to pay them off too!
Thinking of this, the group couldn't help but feel bitter, a sense of unease creeping over them…
"Why are you still sitting here? Get ready, we're leaving soon."
Just as they were lamenting the loss of their now-defunct savings, Type 80 and Type 56-1 approached, looking at the three still sitting there, asking curiously.
"Leave? Sigh, all the money in our original account is gone, how can we be in the mood…"
G43 shook her head helplessly, slumping onto the table, unwilling to move.
"The original account? Didn't Commander Renault already transfer all the money in your original account to a new one? Didn't you see?" Type 80 exchanged a glance with Type 56-1 beside her, then pulled out Renault's issued cell phone from her pocket and waved it.
"Transferred… transferred? We didn't receive any news… Ah! The root protocol of the public communication protocol has been deleted! I forgot about that!?" Stg-44 was the first to react.
Previously, any changes to their account balances would be notified via Griffin's public communication channel, allowing them to know their account status immediately.
But now… unlike Griffin, Renault doesn't have partnerships with banks, so transaction notifications are nonexistent. Even if they did, without the original root base protocols, bank notifications wouldn't be sent directly to their heads.
However, through the phone Renault gave them, they could see the balance in the anonymous account.
This was all arranged by Renault and Helian; after all, it was just some savings from the dolls, not a large sum.
The total savings of the dozen or so dolls barely exceeded one million, with Springfield's savings making up the majority, and Type 80's accounting for a small portion.
As for the other dolls… well, they're all pretty poor…
Especially WA2000, whose entire account balance barely broke four figures…
Renault initially suspected that Helian had withheld all the dolls' savings, but after Helian's repeated statements, Renault had to admit the truth.
That is…
Most Griffin dolls are penniless.
…
"Time to run again. My luck seems to have been terrible lately. I'm either on the run or preparing to run." M16 patted her empty pockets and looked up at RO635 sitting opposite her.
"Alright, enough complaining. I almost got my head smashed open just now. The military is coming on strong, and given M4A1's current condition, we have no choice but to send her back to 16Lab to give Persica a headache."
As Gentiane spoke, she pulled a bottle of liquor from her pocket and tossed it to M16. She needed to stay at the detention center and obviously couldn't return to 16Lab with M16 and RO635.
"Oh! Thanks!" M16 nodded to Gentiane after catching the bottle, as did RO635. Gentiane then left the helicopter, watching it slowly take off.
While M4A1 and the others weren't entirely safe, at least the remaining two members of AR Squad seemed normal. With proper protection, a safe return to 16Lab shouldn't be a problem.
Watching the detention center recede into the distance, RO635 breathed a sigh of relief, only to find that M16, sitting opposite her, had pulled two cell phones from her waist pouch and was looking at them while drinking.
"What's that?"
"My and M4's cell phones, used to contact AR15 and SOP2. Commander Gentiane just secretly gave them to me." As she spoke, M16 also turned on one of the phones.
These two phones had been turned off earlier, but surprisingly, they still had power after so long.
Ding-dong!
The phone had barely turned on when a crisp notification sound rang out.
A photo from SOP2 appeared before M16's eyes.
