Chapter 25 - Chapter 16

The God Kings had not yet returned to the Divine Realm. Still, their eyes remained on Zhongli, who had just taken out the Demonic Spirit Orcas King and their thoughts echoing with the weight of their last conversation with him.

For a while, silence hung between the four of them—heavy, contemplative.

A ripple of divine pressure washed over them—calm yet impossibly deep. The air shimmered, and from the radiant tear in space emerged a tall, elegant man. His long golden hair flowed like molten sunlight down his back, and his reptilian eyes glowed with a gentle yet ancient luminescence.

Xie's voice dropped to a whisper, stunned. "...Dragon God."

The man smiled warmly. "Yes. I am back." His tone was calm, devoid of any vengeance. "You need not fear—I carry no hatred, and my soul is whole. My mind, unfragmented. I have no reason to seek retribution."

Relief flickered across their divine faces, but it was short-lived.

Another shimmer in the void.

Figures began to appear, one cloaked in darkness, another radiating brilliant light. Then two more, veiled in a gentle white glow. The air grew still, thick with reverence—and disbelief.

Shang Liang's breath caught as he stepped forward. "Darkness Dragon Queen… Light Dragon King...?"

Sheng Ming's voice trembled with awe. "Dragon Prince...Dragon Empress…"

Xie took a cautious step back, his voice barely audible. "But they… all died. How…?"

The Light Dragon King stepped forward, a knowing look in her eyes. "You already know the answer."

The four gods exchanged glances, the same name ringing silently in all their minds: Zhongli.

Hui staggered back a step, stunned. "That's… impossible. Not even a Supreme God King could restore beings of your power fully. Even if they did… the resurrected would return hollow—without power, or memory."

The Dragon God turned toward them, his expression filled with quiet reverence. "He is beyond such titles. Beyond Supreme God King. No being in this universe… or any other… can challenge him."

The implication struck deep. Even now, the Divine Realm could barely comprehend the entity walking among them.

Dragon God's golden eyes hardened slightly. "Asura and Poseidon made a grave mistake in provoking him."

A solemn silence passed between the four God Kings. Almost instinctively, they clasped their hands in silent prayer—for whatever would remain of Asura and Poseidon's souls in the future.

Sheng Ming, her voice more tender now, stepped forward. "I'm glad… to see you again. Your resurrection must have brought great joy to Di Tian and the others."

The Darkness Dragon Queen nodded, her voice soft and regal. "Indeed. Though we lost countless years, to embrace my son again… is a gift beyond measure."

The Dragon God gently placed his hand on his son's shoulder and entwined fingers with his wife's. His face, once marked by ancient sorrow, now bore a quiet, radiant peace. "It's enough. My family… has returned."

The Dragon Prince looked around, his expression calm and resolved. "And the soul beast clan is no longer alone. You needn't worry about them anymore."

For a moment, all was still—divine beings of unimaginable power gathered under the same sky, bound not by war, but by a single name that had changed everything.

Zhongli.

And the world would never be the same.

While a few day later, Bo Saixi stood amidst stacks of reports, her expression calm but focused. The weight of recent events hung heavy in the air. As she read through the documents, a ripple of divine energy brushed her senses. She looked up, already knowing who it was.

Zhongli appeared silently in her chamber, the air shimmering faintly around him. Dressed simply, with an aura that defied reality, he was at once serene and overwhelming.

Bo Saixi stood and bowed slightly, her voice formal. "My Lord."

Zhongli smiled softly and waved her off. "You don't need to call me that. And forgive me for entering unannounced."

Bo Saixi blinked in surprise. Such humility from a being so powerful? It only deepened her respect. "You're always welcome here," she replied warmly. "There's no need for formality between us."

Zhongli stepped closer, his golden eyes thoughtful. "I came to let you know—an old friend of yours may be arriving soon. He was watching when you and Tang Chen first encountered me."

Bo Saixi's gaze sharpened. "Qian Daoliu…"

Zhongli gave a small nod. "It seems he's heard of your confrontation with Poseidon. He may come seeking answers."

"I'll handle it," Bo Saixi said firmly.

It didn't take long.

Moments later, soul spirit pressure brushed against the horizon—bright, commanding, and unmistakable. She stepped out and ascended into the sky to meet it.

Qian Daoliu hovered in midair like a celestial sentinel. His piercing golden eyes radiated wisdom and supreme power. Elegant silver-white hair flowed behind him like divine silk, and his majestic armor gleamed gold and black with accents of deep blue, adorned with radiant motifs of angels and celestial beings.

Large golden wings spread behind him, glowing with divine energy. A luminous mist surrounded him, warping the air with holy pressure.

Yet, when he saw Bo Saixi, the edge in his aura softened. "It's good to see you safe," he said, a rare warmth in his voice.

Bo Saixi smiled, but in her heart, she felt a pang of guilt. She knew his future fate—his sacrifice, his loss of family, Spirit Hall's fall. Despite everything, he remained loyal… and alone.

Her thoughts shifted to Tang Chen—and the bitterness returned. His future words haunted her: "You are an outsider. Don't interfere in such matters."

That one sentence had shattered the illusion. She was never truly in his heart—merely a token of his past glory.

Qian Daoliu broke the silence. "I saw you and Tang Chen… you were fighting someone."

Bo Saixi nodded. "Yes. Tang Chen was chosen by Asura. I was approached by Poseidon. We were both sent to eliminate someone." Her eyes darkened. "I sensed something was wrong, but I couldn't question Poseidon then. You likely saw the outcome."

Qian Daoliu's brow furrowed. That explained their cooperation, but what disturbed him more was the ease with which both had been defeated.

He hesitated, then asked, "I also heard... Sea God tried to drown the island. And that your martial soul changed."

Bo Saixi exhaled slowly. "Yes. Poseidon tried to erase everything because I disobeyed. He tried to strip my martial soul, to punish the entire island."

She extended her arm—and behind her, a mighty figure took shape. The air trembled with pressure as a colossal, spectral Kyogre surged forth, suspended above her like a god of the depths answering her call. Its immense, whale-like body gleamed with divine brilliance, each movement rippling with overwhelming might. Deep blue scales shimmered under the sun, marked by glowing red stripes that coiled around its chin, eyes, and dorsal fins, pulsating with energy. Two massive pectoral fins stretched out beside it, each bearing four stark white, square-shaped nails that exuded silent authority. Its yellow eyes—small yet piercing—gleamed beneath black shadowed ridges, while white oval spots hovered above them like celestial markings. Twin spikes jutted from beneath its white jawline, and its powerful tail, tattered and flowing, split into four trailing extensions—graceful, yet fearsome. The moment Kyogre emerged, Bo Saixi's presence seemed to transcend the mortal realm, and even Qian Daoliu's golden aura dimmed infront of it.

Qian Daoliu's eyes widened. This wasn't a normal martial soul. It was something beyond—something divine.

"He saved me," she said simply. "He changed my martial soul, forced Poseidon to retreat, and protected Sea God Island."

Qian Daoliu's intrigue deepened. To change a martial soul—to rewrite its divine inheritance—and force a First-Class God into retreat?

"Who is he?" he asked.

Bo Saixi's tone became serious. "Before I answer, I ask you this—as a friend: tread carefully."

She stepped closer, looking him in the eyes. "His Name is Zhongli and My lord is someone even the God Kings fear. Do not test him. And I know your ambitions for Spirit Hall… He actually thinks well of it. Don't ruin that impression."

Qian Daoliu stilled. Bo Saixi had always been proud, resolute. But here, her caution was genuine.

Bo Saixi had spoken with Zhongli many times—more than anyone in the divine realm likely realized. Their conversations ranged from the divine laws to the fragile balance of the mortal world. But it was those quiet talks about the Douluo Dalu Continent that had left the deepest impression.

Zhongli… he saw clearly. Where gods turned blind eyes to power structures, he questioned them. Where others enforced divine mandates without care for consequence, he listened. And what surprised her the most—he respected Spirit Hall.

Not for its might, but for its intent.

He once told her, "Spirit Hall, for all its flaws, gives hope to those who would otherwise never rise."

And Bo Saixi agreed.

In her memories of the future, after Spirit Hall's fall and Shrek Academy's rise to uncontested dominance, the continent had not flourished. It had stagnated. The nobles reclaimed their grip. Shrek preached justice, but didn't do as it preached. Ordinary people, commoners with talent and dreams, had been cast aside in favor of legacy and bloodline.

Shrek reigned with the velvet glove of righteousness... but wielded it like a clenched fist.

Spirit Hall, in contrast, had provided opportunity. Trials, harsh and unforgiving, yes—but fair. A child with no background could rise, if they had the will.

So Bo Saixi looked at Qian Daoliu with rare sincerity. "Zhongli understands the world better than any of us. He doesn't see Spirit Hall as the enemy—but as something essential. Please, don't let pride blind you."

Qian Daoliu stared at her, unreadable. But in his eyes, a flicker of respect.

"…I understand, it seem he is already a god above gods," he said quietly.

Bo Saixi nodded. "He is."

And deep down, Qian Daoliu knew—this was no exaggeration.
