"Indeed," the fourth Sullivan brother added, his tone deceptively smooth. "We must make sure she receives all of our thanks for trying." His words dripped with sarcasm, but the venom in his eyes told a different story, one of bloodlust barely restrained.
He expressed his gratitude with a smile, but what he truly meant was far from kind. What he really wanted was to make sure Sophia, that deceitful doctor who dared to hurt their beloved sister just to steal her place and enjoy her luxurious life, would be "well taken care of."
In other words, he intended to make her life a living hell as payback for conspiring against them.
The Sullivans were not a family that sought conflict. In fact, they were known as some of the most good-natured people in the business world, a family whose strength came from unity, not rivalry.
It was this harmony that allowed them to rise into one of the most powerful families. But just because they rarely made enemies didn't mean they were easy to bully.
