Before Vera could even say another word, he stormed toward her and grasped her by the throat, shoving her up against the nearest wall. His gaze was murderous. Threatening even. If she didn't give him an explanation, two seconds was all it took and he would put a bullet through her head.
She watched him take out the pistol from the holster hidden inside his coat. The metal head pressed against her temple and she breathed heavily, swallowing and trying to catch her breath.
