Caesar raised a brow in surprise but then smiled harder than her. "Mhm, yeah, it's going to be fun. I have a lot of unreleased steam to let out." His hands came at her hips, grabbing.
She'd really lost a lot of weight.
"But I'm going to feed you first."
Adeline laughed, leaning in until she could kiss him.
"I missed you, doll."
"But I've always been here."
"Yes, but…" He cupped her cheek. "…I missed you. You, Adeline."
She looked into his eyes, pausing at the wetness that had clouded his pupils. Her throat deepened in a swallow as she swallowed the thick lump in her throat. She wiped at his eyes and proceeded to drop kisses on his eyelids.
"I have so much I'll make up for, and I will. You will let me." She rested her head on his chest, breathing out softly. "I love you, Caesar."
Caesar weaved his fingers through her hair. "I love you more, Adeline. Stay with me, and don't…leave me again. Yeah?"
"I won't. Never again."
