Chapter 40 - Time for that bet

Y/n has been staring blankly at the ceiling for several minutes, noticing the sun filtering through the window. He would have already gotten out of bed if it weren't for someone.

He had dozed off with his arms outstretched, which Millie used to rest her head, and hours later, she was still there, now curled up like a cat drawn to warmth, with her tail snugly wrapped around his waist.

Getting help wasn't an option because the only other person in the room when he fell asleep had already left.

Millie: hmm...Moxie...

He stared at her for a moment, noticing a small tear rolling down her cheek, revealing just how much she missed Moxie. He slightly turned and gently cupped her face before kissing her forehead.

She smiled just enough for it to be noticeable. He tried to pull his arm from beneath Millie, but she showed remarkable strength, tightly gripping it and preventing him from escaping.

He sighed wearily while rubbing his eyes with his other hand. Luckily, he didn't have to wait long; it seemed his kiss had stirred her, as she slowly opened her eyes and sat up.

The sunlight poured gently over her figure, illuminating her bare features and letting her short black hair sway freely in the light breeze.

She glanced at him before her typical goofy smile lit up her face.

Millie: Hey y/n!..." sighs" Thanks for the, um, you know what you did. I really needed to unwind, even if I didn't get to do everything I wanted to do.

Now that Millie finally got off his arm, he got out of bed and started putting his clothes on, which Millie also followed along with, but still kept her eyes on him, waiting for a response.

Y/N: It was no problem. I had a great time. I... actually really need that as well, especially with how my life is going right now.

Millie: Well, there's nothing like a good round of sex that can't fix... I'm just kidding, but it can help.

Y/n: Haha, yeah, I feel much better now that I've finally released some of the stress that's been building up over the past few days, but uh, what about you?

Millie: What do you mean?

Y/n: You were… calling out for Moxie while you were asleep.

Millie: Agh, was I? I'm sorry about that.

Y/n: Whoa, what is there to be sorry about? I think I can understand why you were doing it.

Millie: Ha... is it really that easy to tell?

Y/n: Other than your more intense approach to sex, it's not hard to tell.

Millie: ... "depressed chuckle" I guess so... you know, you were right about me not getting enough sleep.

Y/n: How come? But if it's none of my business, then the-

Millie: Hey, don't you remember what I said before? We're friends, so we can talk to each other about our problems.

Y/n: Oh, right. So why haven't you been sleeping?

Millie: It might not seem like it, but I really struggle to sleep alone, especially since Moxie isn't here.

She brightened up when she felt y/n's hand on her shoulder.

Y/n: Don't worry, we'll find your boyfriend and bring him back. I'm sure that Blitzo is coming up with something… hopefully.

Millie: Hehe, he's actually my husband, silly.

Y/n: Oh man, my mistake, I guess I have a bit of memory loss.

In his mind, y/n couldn't help but think that Moxie really was a lucky guy.

Millie:...but thanks! It's comforting to hear. You're definitely the nicest sinner I've met among all our clients.

Y/n: Please, I'm definitely better than all those douchebags. And please don't say it like that, you're making it sound like I pay for your services.

Millie: Why? scared of paying for some sex with me~

Y/n: Ehh, maybe, you're starting to sound like someone I know.

Now that he thought about it, he wondered how everyone else was doing. It felt like it had been four months and five days since he last saw them.

*someplace else*

Four individuals sat around a table beside the fireplace, and chairs were moved to accommodate them. The four people were Angle Dust, Husk, Alastor, and Nifty.

Angel's eyes switched between the two men as she tried to decide her next move. She held a few cards in her hand while Husk and Alastor did the same. Her primary opponent was Alastor. She couldn't tell what he had because of his creepy smile.

Alastor could feel how obvious she was as he hummed a tune, grabbed a card, and gently placed it on the table.

Alastor: I am inclined to believe that this is what one might refer to as a victory.

Angel: FUCKING BASTARD!

Angel slammed her cards down onto the table.

Husk: Tsk, that was some horses shit.

Angel: Hey Husky, get me a drink, would you ya.

Husk: Don't ever call me that again, you bitch. Do you hear me me.

Angel: Yeah, yeah, I heard you. Now, get me that drink.

Husk groaned as he got up and walked over to his bar. After a few minutes, he returned with a bottle and gave it to Angel.

Angel: Ah, a lovely refreshment. Thanks hun.

Husk: just stop talking.

Angel took a few gulps, then lowered the drink to look toward Nifty.

Angel: So why did you help that prick, huh, niffty?

Niffty: he promised to give me something I liked.

Angel: Oh, yeah, and what that?

Nifty: hehe pain.

Angel: Ah, you're one of those types of girls, aren't you? But you Mister, are a fucking cheater!

She pointed one of her hands towards Alastor, who was enjoying a lovely tea of refreshment.

Alastor: I stayed by the rules, didn't I?

Angel: Yeah, but you both were working together.

Alastor: So? I believe no rules say a friend can't help another, can they?

Angel was about to refute his claim, but she knew she couldn't because he was right.

Alastor: Well, I must say, this game has been quite engaging. I haven't had this much fun since my earlier days. Hoho!

Angel: Ya, well, I thought you might have liked it because of the pain you can cause others. Now then, another game?

Husk groaned while shuffling the cards, as Angel took another glance at the box.be

*image here*

Angel: Hold the damn door! We've been playing the harder versions of this stuff. No wonder I kept getting hit with +10 of bullshit!

A sinister laugh echoed out from Alastor Direction.

*back with Y/n*

y/n just shrugged his shoulders, hoping everything was okay and that the hotel wouldn't be destroyed over a hypothetical game of UNO that he didn't believe would actually take place.

Y/n: "coughing" Well, if you ever need a simple sleeping buddy till you get your Moxie back, hit me

Millie: trying to get me to drop my guard, aren't ya.

Y/n: Well, did it work?

Millie: Uh huh, sure did. But I doubt you need to do much work since we already started screwing each other.

Y/n: yeah... Just to be clear, though, I won't let you peg me, I'm not like Moxie, and that's just weird.

Millie: Y/n, you had me passing out from fucking my wet cunt. I doubt I would want to be doing anything like that for a while because damn, your cock really hit the right spot spots.

Y/n was almost finished putting on his clothes, so he glanced over, surprised by the scene before him, which was Millie squeezing her ass into her shorts shorts.

He coughed lightly, attempting to avert his gaze. Yet, Millie sensed his longing eyes fixated on her body, igniting a familiar thrill within her once more.

Millie: Hey, you don't have some magical cologne that turns people on like dogs in heat, do you?

Y/n: Uh, no, I don't. What does it smell like?

Millie: Hmm, I guess it has a sweet scent to it, and when I pick up the scent, it really makes me want to fuck you down right here and right now so badly.

Besides the very confirming way Millie expressed her desire to have sex again, Y/n took a moment to ponder what she meant, and it hit him, perhaps she was referring to his curse.

But this brought up a question: should he tell her that?

He paused briefly, letting out a sigh. No, he had to gather his courage and tell Millie that her unusual behavior was due to him. That would clarify many of her actions.

After all, as Millie pointed out, they were friends, and he couldn't proceed if his presence influenced her.

He inhaled deeply, his heart racing as he braced for Millie's outburst over what he had made her do with him. At least it was good preparation for when he tried to explain it the next time.

Y/n: I think what you're smelling is ... my curse.

Millie: Oh, you have one of those incredible sinner abilities.

Y/N: Well, I wouldn't call it cool.... It affects the girls around me, and they seem to start liking me in a romantic sense slowly.

Millie stared at him in silence, which left y/n feeling really bothered until she finally spoke up.

Millie: What makes that a curse? I would think you'd be thrilled to have girls falling head over heels for you.

Y/n: Well, I was at first until a single thought crossed my mind: "Do they really like you for you, or is it just because your power is active?"

Millie: Huh, I never thought of it that way, but still, that sounds amazing to have.

Y/n: Aren't you angry?

Millie: About what?

Y/n: That it seems my situation is affecting how you think of me.

Millie: Meh, not really.

Y/n: Oh, I wasn't expecting that.

Millie: Well, what would be different? I was already considering looking for someone to satisfy my womanly nature... Moxie doesn't really do...

Moxie was really being outdone by his own girl, who was truly crazy about him.

Y/n: Well, what if it affects your love for Moxie?

Millie: Trust me, the only way Moxie could make me stop loving him is by saying something really stupid about me, which that goofball has never done, so don't worry about it. Plus, I liked that it increased my sensitivity to that fat cock of yours.

Y/N just chuckled quietly as he listened to her. Millie's eyes stared at him before she seemed to take things slightly more seriously.

Millie: Hey, look, don't worry about it, alright, just have some fun with that thing of yours or whatever it is because I know I will.

She took a few steps towards the door before turning and winking at him, which y/n just smiled softly as he followed her out of the room to start the day.

Maybe vaggie was right about the whole thing, perhaps he was actually helping people by having such a thing.

It's about time to stop focusing so much on that part and just focus on living again.

*TImeskip*

Via raised an arm to shield her eyes from the harsh sunlight blazing down on her, making it difficult to see.

Via: Dad, what am I doing here? Can I go home? The sun is really hurting my eyes.

Via stood on the wooden stage, gazing at her father, who sat in a specially designed seat to observe the Pain Games.

Stolas: Well, my dear Octavia, that's part of why I brought you along today. I thought you needed a break from being cooped up in your room.

Via: Yeah, well, I enjoy my music, Dad.

Stolas managed a small smile, attempting to hide his surprise until he arrived, but now, he felt it might be time to reveal it.

Stolas: I really hoped you'd spend some time socializing with others, even if just for a little while.

Via: I was under the impression that speaking to imps could hurt my reputation with the other houses.

Stolas: Not at all, Via. I believed you'd enjoy some time with that friend of yours. From what I recall, you seem close to him.

Aka, when Blitzo shared details about the outing with y/n a few days ago,

Via perked up the moment she heard the mention that y/n was nearby. She emitted a tiny chirp before quickly covering her mouth with her hands as she glanced at her father.

Via: Why didn't you tell me y/n was here? I'm not even ready to see someone I know!

Stolas: "laughing" Because I wanted to surprise you, my sweet owlet. By the way, he's right over there at the entrance I can see him from here.

Via side eye, Stolas pointed out the area, noticing y/n standing beside Blitzo and chatting about something.

Blitzo: Yeah, so go out there and enjoy yourself. We have plenty of time until the next game.

Y/n: What are you going to do in the meantime?

Blitzo: Millie said there was a great place close by with some great rat on a stick.

Y/N: Oh… well, enjoy.

Blitzo: You bet your sweet ass I will. You stay out of trouble Loona.

Loona: Yeah, whatever.

The group separated, with Millie and Blltzo heading off, while Loona and y/n remained together.

Y/n: Well... are you ready for that bet?

Loona didn't answer, simply giving him a sidelong glance.

Y/n: Hey, are you okay, Loona? You've been quieter than usual since this morning.

Loona: It's nothing. Let's just start playing some games.

Y/n: Wait, we need to wait for one more person.

Loona: We do?

Y/n: Yeah, I can see her from here.

y/n waved towards the stage where Via was watching. She tucked her head into her beanie and shyly waved back.

Loona: She's coming too?

Y/n: Yeah, Stolas asked me to play with her...

They exchanged glances, both thinking the same thing.

Y/n: Don't even say it.

Loona: "smirks" I didn't say anything. You're the one with a dirty mind. Anyway, go get her. I'm off to get myself a drink while you do.

She wandered towards the drinks area, where she would kick an imp away to stand in line. Then, y/n shook his head and walked toward the stage.

Stolas rose from his chair and approached y/n, with Octavia following closely behind. She felt frustrated about not being told that y/n would be here, yet she was also happy to be with y/n again.

Stolas: Y/n, it's wonderful to see you again! I hope you're prepared for the upcoming challenging games.

Y/N: Sure, I guess. I didn't really want to play them, but like I said, it's whatever. Hey, via.

Via: Oh hey, y/n.

She raised her hand and offered him a brief wave but quickly felt embarrassed for attempting to appear overly casual.

Stolas observed with enthusiasm, pleased that she had someone dear to her in contrast to his lonely childhood.

Stolas: Now, don't let me hold you back from enjoying yourself.

He nudged Octavia forward, catching her off guard as she lost her balance. Luckily, y/n was able to catch her just in time.

She gazed at him for slightly too long, her pale face nearly as red as a tomato as she quickly stood up, panicking.

Y/N just chuckles softly as she watches her before turning away her.

Y/N: Well, come on, Via. You're welcome to join Loona and me while we play some games together.

Via: A-alright, sure sounds like fun.

y/n approached the spot where Loona was, noticing her gulping a drink with her chest out as a liquid stream trickled down her face and neck.

Y/n: Hey Loona, are you ready to finally kick off our bet?

Loona tossed the cup behind her as she stood up, striking a very sexy pose while stretching. She brought her hands together and pushed them away from her body, lifting them toward the sky with her chest thrust out and her rear end as well.

Loona: Finally, I was starting to get bored with this cheap booze.

Y/n: Just keep the bet in mind, okay?

Loona: No need to remind me, I'm already winning this.

Y/n: Yeah, yeah, sure you will.

Via: H-Hey Loona, it's been a while.

Loona: Yo.

Via: What are you guys chatting about?

Y/n: Loona and I placed a wager on who can win the most games.

Via: Oh, can I join?

Loona: "Smirking, you need to pay a heavy price if you join us, but of course, you could just not join our bet.

Via: What are you guys betting with?

Y/n: If Loona loses, she won't be able to pleasure herself.

Via: ...Oh

Y/N: She's in heat, so if she loses it, it's a big deal for her. Wait, since you're an owl, don't you also go into heat?

Via: Oh, uh, yeah, I suppose so

Y/n: Man, having such a thing like that must be pretty weird. Besides that, if I lose to loona, we make out.

Via: That doesn't sound like much of a reason to wager.

Loona: Well then, how about you make a good one? Huh!

Via: Well, if I win, how about we hang out again in the future, just you and me, y/n?

Loona was intensely glaring at Octavia, almost as if she were being defensive about someone trying to take y/n away from her. Perhaps y/n held more significance for her than she acknowledged, as she observed intently how y/n would respond.

Y/n: Yeah, sure, that's fine with me.

Loona: Are you sure that's a good idea?

Y/n: Well, if I remember correctly, didn't you say I get no bitches. Well, look, I have one that I want to hang out with me.

He pulled Via in close, wrapping his arm around her. It took her a moment to grasp his words because their closeness consumed her mind.

Via: Y-Yeah...wait

Y/n: Now, then, how about we play some games? I called, picking the first one.

Y/n ran off, leaving the two girls alone. Loona crossed her arms and stared at Via.

Loona: What's your relationship with y/n?

Via: Huh, we're friends, you, me, and him.

Loona: We're hardly friends. We haven't talked much since the concert. But you two seem to be spending more time together, don't you?

Loona already knew the answer to the question, but she wanted to hear it from the woman herself.

Via: Well, yeah, he's my... first friend who doesn't use me for my Goetia status. What about you? Huh, what is he to you?

Loona: He is my best friend!

Via: Your expression and posture tell a different story.

Loona: I'm only looking at him like that because of my heat; it's nothing more.

Via: We both know that's not the case.

Loona: Whatever.

After their somewhat tense discussion, she turned and walked off towards y/n.

*small time skp*

The trio headed toward the first game, which resembled a typical shoot-em-up with plastic bullets. No one was present to kick off the game, and as y/n peered over, an imp suddenly leaped out from nowhere.

Wally Wackford: Welcome! I must say, you three look like you're pretty good with guns. Would you be interested in trying out this bad boy right here?

Y/n: Uh, well, that's exactly why we're here.

Loona: Just start it, dipshit!

Y/n: dude, aren't you one of the hosts of the games?

Wally Wackford: Well, of course, I have one of my own games here. I need to make money somehow, but after all, I'm very poor.

Via: uh, actually, how do we play? I never used one of these things before.

Wally inhaled as he was about to explain, but was cut off by y/n.

Y/n: Here let me show you.

He approached Via, took her hands, positioning them like one would a rifle. His upper body leaned into hers, making her blush slightly while remaining attentive to his instruction.

After ensuring she knew enough about how the toy gun worked, he walked back over and positioned himself ready to play.

WARNING FOR CAT LOVERS

Wally Wackford: Well, alright then. 3...2...1 Go!

The curtain shifted, revealing the targets behind it, leaving y/n both shocked and horrified by what he saw.

*IMAGE HERE*

The targets were no other than cats.

German cat1: Erobern Sie das Land für Deutschland zurück

German cat2:Ich will nicht lügen, Hitler hatte einen tollen Schnurrbart

German cat3: Er hat auch eine große Gyat

German ca4t:muss alles töten, was kein Sünder ist!

What was worse was that they were German cats. Even then, he couldn't kill the cat; he wouldn't pass that line.

Annoucer: First Blood, Double Kill, Triple Kill, Ultrakill, Rampage, Killing Spree, Monster Kill, Megakill, Holy Shit, Dominating, Wiked Sick.

(Y/n reaction)

He turned his head toward the person beside him, seeing Loona shooting at the cats, killing them without mercy.

Wally Wackford quickly rang a bell, telling them that it was over, as Loona placed the gun down on the table, noticing that y/n was staring at her.

Loona: What?

Y/n: You just killed I don't know how many cats.

Loona: yeah well fuck them they don't deserve to live.

Loona seemed slightly agitated when bringing up her feelings for cats. Something horrible must have happened for her to react that much to the cats before them.

WARNING OVER

Loona: Anyway, I won, right?

Y/n: I-i-I I guess so first round goes to you.

Loona: Sweet. So, are we doing the best out of the three?

Y/n: that uh makes sense

Loona: Hey, I'll tell you another time why I dislike cats, alright.

Y/n: Yeah, uh sure, let's just head to the next one.

Via was silent after what she saw.

The trio now approached another booth with a balloon-popping game design, and this time, y/n did not want to be scared.

Just like before, no one was there until he tried looking over again, and like before, Wally Wackford popped out.

Wally Wackford: I see. I'm back for more. Well, don't you worry. This is a simple balloon-popping game with nothing behind it. Just try to pop the most balloons, and you'll win.

y/n sighed as he walked over and grabbed a dart, getting ready along with the others.

Via: This game will be mine

Y/n: really now, well prepared to lose.

Lonna: And what makes you so confident you're going to win? You're already down by one.

Y/n: because I got that plot amor.

Loona: uh huh yeah sure.

Wally Wackford: enough talking as I will begin counting down 3.....2.....1 go!

y/n threw the dart, hitting one. He then quickly grabbed another and was able to get two for one on that dart. He kept repeating, the faster he went, the more he sometimes missed.

He noticed that Loona was scoring a few more points than he was. The only reasonable thing to do in that situation was to stretch his hand out and grab her tail, causing her to jump and moan.

Loona: You fucker! What did I say about touching me while I'm in heat?!

She tried to slash at him with her claws, but he ducked just in time.

Wally Wackford: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5

Loona: Damn it, y/n!

y/n smirked as he kept throwing darts before he ran out of time.

Wally Wackford: and that is time! Now let's see what kind of points you each have.

Y/n: Hey, Via, how many did you get?

Via: I, uh, don't want to talk about it.

Y/n looked at her, bored with all her balloons, only to see many of the darts hitting the floor instead of hitting the wooden board.

Y/n: Hey, uh, well, that's a good try, Via. You'll do better next time.

Wally Wackford: Alright, you lads and gents, here's your score. The man here got 42, the wolf got 37, and the bird got a 3.

The two looked over at her, as she was trying to hide her embarrassment from the two by using her beanie to cover her face.

Wally Wackford: tough luck there ladies, but can I offer you three another game we have.

Y/n: what type of game?

Wally Wackford: a cornfield one.

Y/n: oh that doesn't sound so bad.

Loona: just wait, I bet there's another part to it.

Wally Wackford: You would be right. It would be better to hear it from the person who created it.

Y/n: oh you didn't make this one?

Wally Wackford: Sadly, it's not here. Watch this video that explains it.

He produced a TV from an unknown source and inserted a tape. The screen lit up as the recording began to play.

???: ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLRIGHT! WELCOME TO MUDER MAZE!

The screen showed a sinner wearing an owl mask, looking back at you.

???: Hold up, sorry, can we do that again? I think I blinked.

The voice came from another sinner wearing a Jason mask.

???: Shut the hell up. Now, to break it down, you're going to be chased by an axe-wielding maniac. So once the game starts, you need to run into the middle of the maze and then get back out the same way you came in, but you have a killer on your tail, so hide or get killed.

When the video ended, the three felt more confused than anything.

Wally Wackford: So, you interested?

Loona: Yeah, sure, why not.

Y/n: Well, if you're in, then I'm in.

Via: You sure this is a good idea?

Y/n: Definitely not, but hey, it'll be fun.

Wally Wackford: Great. Now, just head down that clearly visible alley where it seems likely you'll get killed.

Y/n: woah let's go!

y/n dashed into the alley as his form melded with the shadows. Loona simply rolled her eyes, crossing her arms before following him inside. Via appeared hesitant, but she stepped in slowly, taking care as she moved.

Eventually, she raised her arm to cover her eyes from the light that was shining into her eyes as she looked forward to the fact that there was an actual cornfield.

There were a few other imps there waiting for the game, as y/n was hanging inside on a bench close by.

Loona: what are you doing?

Y/n: trying to get high from my blood flow to my head.

Loona: is it working?

Y/n: I don't know. Hey, were there always two hot versions of you?

She took a few steps back from him, her face flushed with anger. Her fist tightened as she closed her eyes, a hint of fury shining through before she punched him in the stomach, sending him flying away.

Loona: Don't mess with my feelings, Y/n!

Via: I uh, don't think he can hear you, Loona.

Loona: Whatever.

timeskip of Y/n being passed out

Wally Wackford: You'll have a head start while the killer gets his prep time.

.

.

.

Wally Wackford: What are you waiting for? Run!

Via: Hey Y/N, do you want to join me?

But as she glanced at Y/N, he had already vanished, as if he had been erased from reality.

She sighed and turned to Loona, but Loona was already dashing into the cornfield. Determined not to fall behind again, she hurried into the cornfield herself. She observed that everyone was scattered in various directions. After glancing left and then right, she chose to go left.

Suddenly, the speakers that were set up within the cornfield came to life as the weird imp voice came through them.

Wally Wackford: ALRIGHT, you people are killers, lose, and he's ready to mingle. Don't die! As a reminder, if you are hurt or injured, we are not liable for any damages it.

Octavia wasn't prepared; she felt the timer was counting down faster than it should have been. The sound of footsteps came from behind her, and since she was the last person to enter, it could only be the killer.

She started running, but before she could get far, she felt something grab her hand and yank her off the path and into the corn before she could let out any noise; someone covered her mouth.

Just then, loud thuds echoed past her, heading deeper into the cornfield. The person who had grabbed her finally loosened their grip, allowing her to turn and see who it was.

Via: What the hell, y/n?

Y/n: Sorry about that, I didn't want him to catch you.

Via: Still, you scared the feathers off me.

Y/n rubbed the back of his head, smiling awkwardly.

Y/n: Well, at least we should be able to walk deep into the places now without worrying about this guy.

y/n stood up and walked back onto the path while shaking off any corn dust and other stuff. Via followed and did the same.

Y/n: hold on you got some stuck in your feathers right here.

Via: where?

Y/n: Here

He extended his hand just inches from her face, watching it as he combed through her feathered hair, noticing some pieces of corn drop away.

Via: Thank you for that.

y/n: Of course.

Via: Uh, y/n?

y/n: Yeah, what's up?

Via: I wanted to know if you'd like to do this thing together.

y/n: Sure, we can come on, let's take this path.

They began walking through the maze, taking different paths. Whenever they hit a dead end, they would simply backtrack, and when they heard someone approaching, they would duck into the field, waiting for the person to walk by before emerging and continuing.

Via: So, what did my dad say to get you to care for me today?

Y/n: Nothing much, he just asked if I would hang out with you if he brought you over today, and I said yes, of course.

Via: Oh, really?

Y/n: You doubt me?

Via: No, I believe you, it's just... sighs it feels like my dad passed me off to you to avoid looking after me.

Y/n glanced at her for a moment, placing his hand gently on her shoulder.

Y/n: I understand where you're coming from, Octavia, but I think you're underestimating him. Sure, he could handle things better, but at least he considered you when he asked me if I would hang out with you if he brought you over.

Via: I hadn't thought about it that way before.

Y/n had seen what a terrible father looked like, and while Stolas isn't perfect, he's much better than some people.

*insert your favorite phone notifications sound*

The pair stopped as Octavia slowly turned to y/n, as he had his phone out, looking at something.

Y/n: That was very poorly timed. You go on ahead, I'll hold him off.

Via: You sure, because I'm pretty sure we have plenty of time to run

Y/n: nah, it's okay, you go on.

The sounds of someone running through the maze could be heard. Octavia ran ahead as y/n looked down at his phone again as he started pushing buttons.

Y/n: God damn it, Ema, it's really a bad time to be messaging me.

y/n heard the sound of someone panting as they approached. Looking up, they saw an imp wielding an axe. The imp charged at y/n, who quickly put away their phone and sidestepped, causing the attack to miss.

He took a few more swings at y/n but dodged without much of a sweat.

Y/n: Come on, you can do better than that, can't you?

The imp launched a downward attack, which y/n waited for until he missed. Then, y/n jumped over the imp and started running away with a cheeky smile on his face.

He suddenly ran into an open square area with a sign saying he made it to the middle, and now he had to head back.

He just sighed hard at having to redo every or...timeskip

Y/n ran out of the maze, noticing that a few other people had also made it out, which included Via, who came running over after seeing him return.

Via: Y/n! It's great to see you're okay.

Y/n: Hey, was there ever any doubt? Also where Loona?

Via: She hasn't come out yet.

Y/n: Hmm I thought she would be first.

Via: uh y/n.

Y/n: Yeah?

Via: You can take my place as the one who won the race first.

Y/n: Why don't you want to win?

Via, Yeah, well there's not a lot of time left until your thing isn't it?

Y/n: I guess so. But still, besides that, why do you want me to win the bet?

Via: You can think of it as me helping you out.

The real motivation stemmed from her conversation with Loona earlier, and now she wants to be compensated for what was said about her.

Loona emerged from the maze, astonished to find that the two had reached the finish line before her.

Loona: What the hell? How did I end up losing?

Y/n: I was wondering the same thing.

Loona: Who arrived first?

Via: Y/n did.

Y/n: Haha, yep.

Loona: Fuck!

Y/n: Hey, remember, a deal is a deal.

Loona: Yeah, yeah, I hear you.

Y/n: As much as I want to rub it in, we need to head over to the next pain game thing. Loona, can you take Octavia with you?

Loona: Yeah, but aren't you coming

Y/N: Well, yeah, I have to because I'm in the game, but there's this thing I want to do first before heading over.

Loona: Fine, come on, Octavia.

Via: Good luck out there! Y/N, I'm sure you can do this.

Y/N: Thanks! I'm going to need it, but have fun watching me suffer.

So for a while now, I've been thinking, and I believe it's time to put the summer chapter on hold, at least until next summer, because it's clearly taking too long. And don't even get me started on my horrible schedule this month with everything being delayed. But yeah, I just thought I'd let you all know that the summer chapter is being placed on hold, and we will resume normal Hazbin chapters next month since I already have everything planned out.
