"Why on earth are you raising these creatures?" Alice brushed the dirt off her clothes.
The snake breeder replied, "To make money producing antidote serum. Can't exactly go out and harm people, can I?"
The snake breeder's words were merely a joke, yet what is said lightly can sometimes bear weight on the listener's mind.
A cunning glint flashed briefly in Alice's narrow eyes, quickly concealed.
"How about giving me two to play with?" she asked casually.
"What do you want them for?"
"Curiosity!" Alice blinked her seemingly innocent and sincere big eyes. "I've loved these kinds of things since I was a kid—lizards, chameleons, you name it—I kept them all as pets. Now I see these cool-looking snakes, and I absolutely adore them."
"You're using them to make money anyway, so what harm is there in selling me two to play with?"
With that, Alice pulled out a wad of cash from her pocket and handed it over.
