Xiu Xi shifted his gaze back and forth between Jiaojiao and the glittering fireworks filling the night sky. His eyes softened, with a fleeting glimmer passing through them, before finally settling into an unusually resolute expression.
Though both Jiaojiao and Grandpa Shu were reluctant to part, time moved quickly. Before they realized it, the day of farewell had arrived.
Starting from the seventeenth, Grandpa Shu's face showed no trace of a smile.
Jiaojiao nestled into his embrace, whining playfully, "Grandpa, when Jiaojiao goes back and buys a big house, Daddy will come to get you, and you can live with us, okay?"
