Jiang Zhu got married, and the dowry that the Jiang family provided for Mulan was also known to Zhulan. The Jiang family, through the recent years, had begun to rely on the dowry from Dong Yiyi for their daily expenses. Later, when Jiang Ming earned his stipend, and with the family owning some farmland and reduced expenditures, along with the annual rent, there was no need to dip into the principal even with Mulan studying.
When Mulan got married, Dong Yiyi sold most of the properties initially prepared for her and turned them into Silver Coin, then purchased some land as part of the dowry.
The Dong family added a substantial dowry—considering it was quite a generous amount—consisting of a shop in the capital, dozens of acres of land in Zhou family's village, along with some jewelry, and other significant accompaniments.
Lady Dong, as the younger maternal aunt, also prepared additional dowry items for Mulan. The textiles and a few antiques in the dowry all came from Lady Dong.
