Iris avoided Madam Selane eyes, shifting back a bit.
"Now I'm convinced something is definitely wrong." She said as moved closer to Iris.
"Nothing is wrong I just don't want the royal palace to be worried." Iris said hurriedly.
"Oh I see, here have the tonic fast I'll ease the pain." She said handing her the cup.
"Thank you." She smiled, sipping the tonic.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Whose there?" Madam Selane asked as the knock became persistent.
"It's from the royal palace and we know the princess is inside there." Tayler said as the knocking continued.
"They're here for you." Madam Selane turned to Iris.
"Should I let them in?" She asked staring at Iris, waiting for her reply.
"I'll leave!" Iris said calmly as she adjusted her seating position.
"I can't keep running away from everything, I'll go back and try to fix everything." Iris smiled as Madam Selane nodded.
"That's very good my child and if you feel lonely I'll send Asha or I can come over to take care of you." She said as Iris nodded her head in response.
"Let's go, I'll help you up." Madam Selane said as she helped Iris stand despite the pain in her belly.
"Does it still hurt?" Amber asked once she returned.
"It still does but only a little." Iris smiled as they headed for the door.
...
"My princess, the prince had been worried all day." Tayler said as he opened the carriage door for her.
"I came to ask for permission but he was too busy, it won't happen next time." Iris formed a smile and got into the carriage.
GUEST ROOM -
"Tiana what am I hearing?" Ryan asked as Tiana fell silent on the bed.
"I'm talking to?" Ryan asked with fury in his eyes.
"What do you want me to say?" Tiana asked as she clenched fist, trying to control her temper.
"You promised to help me but you didn't?" Ryan argued as he rushed forward to grab her by the arm when Isabella walked in with an angry expression.
"Tiana tell me that this is all a lie and that you aren't getting married to Ryan?" Isabella asked as anger flashed through her eyes.
"Yes, I'm getting married to Ryan and so?" Tiana finally spoke.
"Why does everyone have to judge me from the decisions I make?" She asked angrily as she broke into tears.
"I trusted you Tiana and this is how you pay me back, you know I loved him and you-"
"Don't you have any shame, you're in love with your brother-in-law." Tiana said angrily.
"I don't care about what is going on but I want to make two things clear and that is I'll never leave Iris for another woman and I won't marry you Tiana, it's over between us." Ryan said and stormed out.
"Tiana you're gonna regret what you did." Isabella said and left.
Immediately they left, Tiana fell to the ground, holding her knees together as the tears fell down her cheeks.
Was it a crime to be in love with a commoner? Why couldn't her family accept him? Why couldn't she have the same courage like Ryan?
