Chapter 3 - 3: An Opportunity...

Weeks had passed since Kiba had been brought into this world and the excitement of the situation had finally wore off. He was now accustomed to life in Konoha.

Currently, Kiba was reading books in the Konoha library. He had made it a habit to do so every day after school. His development plan hinged on his own knowledge, so it was obviously required for him to be the smartest one in the room. But that wasn't the entire reason, he was also looking through the sealing techniques. Kiba wanted a trump card, something he could use whenever he felt his current power wasn't enough. Throughout the entire week, he found a few jutsu to base his technique from. First, the Chakra Draining Seal, the user would place a seal on the victim and then on themselves. The victim's seal would drain their chakra and store it in the medium. Second, the Four Symbol Seal, which is able to store large amounts of chakra in it like a reservoir. Along with a custom way to release the seal, he was combining these techniques to make his own. But before he could use it, he wanted to make sure it didn't have any problems. Like the seal could end up draining his Chakra too fast and kill him.

After a few hours of studying, he decided to return home. At home he was greeted by his family before he locked himself in his room to perform tests. He penned the chakra draining seal on two scrolls.

First, the draining seal alone on one scroll. Then, the releasing seal combined with the Four Symbol seal on another. He slowly poured in his chakra into the first scroll, and instantly all the chakra was absorbed. Kiba rubbed his chin in thought, it absorbed the chakra too fast.

He decided to make the seal smaller and try again. But it didn't make a difference. Kiba thought to himself... was it the size of some components in comparison to others, instead of the size of the entire seal?

The third time, he made the inner part of the seal smaller while keeping the rest in scale. This time, it did exactly as he wanted. Though this didn't mean it was complete, it still required more troubleshooting.

---A Week Later---

Kiba stood across from Sasuke, while the other students and Iruka stood forming a circle around the two. Kiba sighed internally, he was supposed to fight Sasuke in their first official class sparring session.

"You got this!" Akamaru barked from atop Kiba's head. "We've been training for weeks!" Kiba smiled as he listened to Akamaru.

"Right." Kiba nodded slightly. "I got this in the bag." He gained a newfound confidence as he talked with Akamaru. Leave it to a puppy to be positive...

"Alright! Shake hands!" Iruka exclaimed and motioned for them to step forward. Kiba raised his right hand and extended his middle and index finger, while Sasuke responded with same action. They interlocked their fingers and bowed to each other, then they walked back to their positions.

Iruka raised his hand. "Ready!" He exclaimed as he looked over at the both of them, then "BEGIN!" He shouted as he chopped downward.

Kiba and Sasuke rushed at each other. Sasuke launched the first blow with right jab aimed at Kiba's face, but he ducked down. Kiba planted his hands on the ground as he ducked and sweeped Sasuke's feet, knocking him down. Kiba quickly repositioned himself and threw a jab at Sasuke, but he rolled to avoid the hit and kicked Kiba away. Sasuke quickly gathered himself and stood, while Kiba did the same. They were back in their original positions, ending their first bout.

'This is too stressful!' Kiba shouted in his mind. He wasn't a fighter in his past life and he only ever practiced martial arts to feel like an anime character, so his more developed mind was carrying him through. He and Sasuke slowly circled each other, until Sasuke ran at him and cocked his fist back for a punch. Kiba raised his hands to block it, but the punch never came. His eyes widened in realization, he quickly looked down to see Sasuke crouched down below him. He hurriedly tried to switch his guard but it was too late, Sasuke launched upward and landed a clean palm strike on his chin.

A loud 'OUCH!!!' resounded in Kiba's head as his eyes rolled back and he fell to the ground.

Kiba sat up and rubbed his chin. "Wow....I've never been hit like that in my entire life." He whined under his breath.

"You okay?" Sasuke held his hand out with a smile. Kiba smiled in return and took his hand. As he rose to his feet, Akamaru quickly rushed atop Kiba's head.

"That was a good match." Iruka voiced. He wrote something on his clipboard and motioned for them to rejoin the circle. "Alright class. The next match is between Hinata Hyuga and Ino Yamanaka!" He exclaimed...

The rest of the class went by smoothly, and before he knew it, the school day was over. As Kiba was packing his bag, someone spoke. "Hey Kiba! Your Taijutsu was pretty good." Kiba turned to see Sasuke standing behind him.

"Thanks." Kiba threw his bag over his shoulder as he replied. Over the last few days he has been talking to Sasuke more and more. Even if his clan wasn't eradicated, he still never expected Sasuke to be such a talkative person.

"I was wondering. Do you want to come over to my place today?" Sasuke spoke up as they were exiting the classroom.

".....Yeah, sure." Kiba turned and answered with a smile. On the inside, his mind was racing. This was the opportunity he had been waiting for. He still didn't know if he could stop the Uchiha massacre, but even then, the more he thought about it the better the massacre seemed. It was used to stop the coup they planned against the Leaf, and it stopped Orochimaru from getting his hands on the Uchiha body he always dreamed of.

'....Should I try to stop the massacre or not?' Kiba's mind was torn.
