A blue diamond, shimmering with iridescent colors and flawless to the naked eye, exuded a fairytale-like radiance under the light.
"Is it for me?"
He chuckled, picked up the ring, and personally placed it on her right ring finger. Against her fair, slender, and delicate fingers, the blue diamond appeared even more brilliant and beautiful.
"Cheapskate, why did you buy such an expensive gift?"
He grinned. "Do you like it?"
"I do like it."
But she was puzzled. "The gifts you gave me before weren't this good."
Nonsense. How could anything I gave you before compare to this one in value? Before, a simple token was enough.
"I remember you've given me a few necklaces before. I thought they were already good enough, but compared to this, they're nothing. Cheapskate, what do you mean by this?"
He coaxed gently, "In the past, if I gave something too expensive, I was afraid I'd end up losing both the gift and the girl, all for nothing."
So he's not afraid of wasting money now?
