"Why didn't you come home last night?" Qin Wei's voice came through the phone. It was the weekend, and Qin Wei wasn't working. He was probably at the hospital, Qin Youxue thought to herself and replied slowly, "I stayed over at a friend's house."
Qin Wei wasn't calling to question her whereabouts. He quickly changed the subject, "You're not working this afternoon, right?"
"No... Why?"
"Come to the hospital," Qin Wei said. "I told you about this last time, didn't I? Come to the hospital to see your younger brother."
A hint of hesitation flashed across Qin Youxue's face. She was physically exhausted and didn't really want to visit Qin Kaile, but since Qin Wei had specifically called, it didn't feel right to keep postponing.
No matter what, Qin Kaile was still her nominal younger brother.
"Got it," Qin Youxue replied. "What's the room number?"
Qin Wei gave her the room number over the phone, and she memorized it silently before standing up from the bed.
