While the mother and daughter were choosing clothes, Chen Xueniang was not at all shy about picking out the clothes she liked: a silk qipao adorned with vibrant floral patterns along with an accompanying undergarment, and a dark blue trench coat with a wide belt that was the highlight.
She might be older, but her figure was quite impeccable.
"Sister Xueniang, you really have an eye for fashion. The trench coat is one thing, but the qipao was hand-sewn by an old tailor in Hong Kong, who actually moved there decades ago from Shanghai. He specializes in qipaos and is always busy with customers. I had to queue for it as soon as I reached Hong Kong and only got it when I was leaving. But storing it in the suitcase caused some creases. Make sure to iron it out when you get it home."
