Among the dozen or so comrades of Lin Yifan and Huo Beiting, except for two who later sacrificed themselves and three who retired and changed careers, the remaining eight stayed in the military. The youngest is also a regimental commander. With the exception of Lin Yifan who was transferred to the Shanghai Military Region, the others stayed in the Kunlun Military Region along with Huo Beiting, and would go stone picking during their leisure time.
As it happens, the station of the division where Lin Yifan belongs is not too far from the Yulong Kashgar River. However, few people value those cobbles, since they aren't food or drink, and taking them back seems to take up space. Feng Qingxue, however, likes them.
Lin Yifan didn't pick up too many stones, nor too few, roughly around thirty or forty pieces of varying sizes.
