"What happened tonight? Xima said you haven't eaten much and you haven't slept. Why don't you go downstairs and have some late-night supper? Xima has made you some." Ding Long walked over to Ding Jinshi, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. His hands slowly moved downward, finally resting on her lower abdomen, as he spoke, "Tomorrow morning, I'll accompany you to the hospital for a check-up. Perhaps there's already a child of ours inside here."
"No!" Ding Jinshi slapped his hand away from her belly.
"Jinshi, don't be stubborn," Ding Long coaxed in a low voice, "I know you're afraid that what you're thinking might become reality, but not going won't change the facts."
Ding Jinshi slowly turned her head to look at Ding Long, her eyes filled with sarcasm.
After a while, Ding Long thought she might say something to ridicule him, but instead, she suddenly nodded and said, "Alright, let's go to the hospital tomorrow morning."
