Nian Shen didn't say whether he would return it or not, only asking, "Is it very important to you?"
"Extremely important," she said firmly.
"A token of love?"
Heather tried to maintain a smile: "It seems Mr. Nian doesn't need to know about this. Mr. Nian probably doesn't lack rings and won't claim it as his own. Of course, if Mr. Nian feels you should receive some sort of compensation, just name your price. I might not be able to give you the money immediately, but please return the ring to me. I, Heather, always keep my word and will make sure to give you the owed money."
"Miss Hai misunderstands, I am not lacking money," Nian Shen's mouth seemed to curve slightly, "I just want to ask, if I lost it, what would you do to me?"
Heather froze, staring at him blankly, something flashing in the depths of her eyes.
But towards this man, she couldn't face him with a murderous gaze.
She said, albeit more sternly, "Mr. Nian, I hope you are just making a little joke with me."
